Hello, so I think this is my 4th battle report of my high elves against a friends Skaven, the first 3 games, I blew him out of the water.
This is my first one of these that I did not bring a frost phoenix and let me tell you, he had 1300 points left on table by end of turn 6 and I had 1100 points left.
It was a great and fun game. I seemed to have controlled most of the game and was clearly winning until turn 5, until his screaming bell rolled on the chart which damages T7 models, well 2 of my 3 bolt throwers died from that, which he had nothing else near them.
Then what clinched his advantage was he turned the last 11 sword masters into rats from the dreaded 13th spell. That sword master unit had the flaming attacks banner to kill his abomination, at that point I just had like 10 silver helms left with my bsb and archmage in that unit. I also had 1 bolt thrower.
He had his bell unit left and an abomination and his newly turned rats unit

I've never had much luck with that spell. Hope to change that in my next game. Good that the High Elves actually lost for a change.

I've had that spell turn more Chaos Warriors into rats than I care to admit. I've played one game with my own Skaven and in that game I turned a unit of 14 Plaguebearers with Herald all into rats; it was awesome.

Yeah, my Skaven opponent complains when I use fiery convocation spell on his clan rats, but its perfectly ok for him to turn 15 or so sword masters or phoenix guard into more clan rats that he can actually use lol.
Hey I might kill 30 out of 50 clan rats, but they are just dead, he kills 15 phoenix guard and they become 15 rats..... yeah..... lol

One time my friend rolled to turn 19 phoenix guard into rats.... next game I took a complete cavalry/chariot/eagle/phoenix list.... take that dreaded 13th only works on infantry spell!!!

Ever since Throgg started making Trolls core I've been wanting to do a WoC monster mash list; nothing but monsters and monstrous infantry/cavalry/beasts. That spell is the motivation that finally got me working on (and finished!) that list. No more Chaos Warriors turned into rats! Daemon Prince Throgg BsB on juggernaut Trolls Warhounds Dragon Ogres Chimera Skullcrushers It's fun to play with. One thing that I've learned though is that Trolls look intimidating (especially in horde!) but they often underwhelm. The amount of tunnel vision they induce though in the opponent is often worth it.
