Hey,
I have a frenzied unit in my next match and my opponent will probably have one too. How can I use this to my advantage. My thoughts:
1) Put a rat dart in front of my frenzied unit, then they do not have to charge. Downside is that they cannot charge if I want them to
2) Put a rat dart in front of his frenzied unit. He has to overrun so I can control the angle he'll move towards
3) Failed charges never work, His frenzied troops usual have a general and a BSB in them so he makes his LD tests every time

Glad you said rat dart otherwise I wouldn't have known which army you were talking about.
Answer would be all of the above, you can have your unit peek around the corner of the blocking unit so that if you can the chance you can declare a charge with your screening unit so you get around that problem, you'll obviously move them out of the way first. Probably best shown on a diagram but I'm sure you know what I'm getting at.
Personally I think the divert tactic is probably the best you'll get. Draw him in, then flank him.

I think the most problematic thing for frenzied units to face is the compulsory overrun. If you are careful with your positioning you can leave them with no good option. As Greg says flanking them or leaving the frenzied unit facing the wrong way on the edge of the board is my preferred method

#2 all day. I do this with Chaos Hounds. Units of 5. They get slaughtered, but it takes a good unit out of the game for 1.5 turns.
#3, like you say, never works. Or at least, rarely. And even then, never when you need/want it to. Maybe I have seen it happen a few times in the past year.

Agree with the advice by others. Also remenber a double flee can stick people in place (But make sure the only two feasible targets are the ones you want to have flee)

#2 is my preferred method for getting rid of those dangerous frenzied units. You can take them effectively out of the game if you can manage to pull this trick off even twice!
I think for skaven it's really the only way to deal with things like skullcrushers. I've been on the dealing end of those things too many times to have ANY hope of ever winning a combat against those them. It'll buy you more time to shoot them with your cannons. Or just ignore them and kill the rest of his army.
As far as your own frenzy I think the trick to managing that is to kill the opponents units that will threaten the same trick against you. If he's stacking redirectors against your frenzied unit then you sure better have some kind of a solution for killing those redirectors.

Frenzy can be managed with care. But doing so requires winning the chaff war, and doing well in the maneuver battle.
