Hey,
My skaven list is here
He had 2 Pumpwagons, 2 Manglers, 2 Rock lobbas, 2 doom divers , 2 units of night goblins, 1 lvl4 Savage Orc shaman, lvl4 goblin shaman, 2 x 10 wolf riders, 2 wolf chariots. Bad moon BSB, 2 squig herds, 2 squig hopper units, big boss on wolf
The Beginning
He vanguarded with his wolves and got first turn. I felt really threatened and his warmachines were hitting everything in sight. My warmachines misfired like it was the misfiring championships. He dispelled my skitterleaps and I stopped his Foot (Feet?). Lots of jockeying for position.
The Middle
My skaven block stopped everything in the left field, they were in horde formation and killed squigs left and right. After 2 rounds his wolf riders and squig herds ran away
The furnace was fabulous and killed wolf riders, squig hoppers, the works.
He got his Foot off and destroyed almost all of my Plague monks. Not in the least because we forgot the role that the Foot scatters.
My gutter runners died because of the chariots but I managed to kill most of his warmachines with skitterleaping warlocks (love those dudes)
The End
His goblin big boss took a walk around the board and attacked the slaves in the rear.
He shot my Furnace and a few priests and monks arrived at the woods, facing just 4 goblins in the woods.
My stormvermin were in the woods, mostly intact (some mangler damage but the woods ate most of the fanatics and manglers)
SO
It's 04:00.
Dreaded thirteenth on his 4 goblins, I need a 25 or double six and I six-dice it: 19.
Crap, but I still have the plague priest and surving monks, they need to win the fight. They do. He needs a 3 to not run way. He throws....a three.
The game is a draw
Conclusions
- That was fun
- I need to sleep
- After 4 years, I'm finally understanding what being a horde army really means. 70 skavenslaves are unstoppable!
- I love the Plague Furnace. The amount of attacks, impact hits...it just kills everything it touches
- Love the scenario. I had less surving units but my tactical game was better. Two unlucky rolls at the end. The draw was probably deserved
Next game will be 3500 points skaven versus Empire or Ong. We have never played for that many points. Looking forward to it.
