Yeah, for the moment, lumping would be best. All non-Chaos human sections should join into one (Empire, Bret, Dow), Orges and Greenskin should all lock hands and praise Mork, all Elves into one, same with Chaos (should include Skaven), Undead and Dwarves. Until we get double the members, this would make the tactic sections less hollow and sparsely looking than they currently are.

Sounds good to me. As of right now, there simply isn't the amount of content necessary to break up Elves into 3 separate categories. We might get to that point on day, but as of right now, there is no need.

Just means I'd need to scroll through each forum thread where other armies players just look in one place.

Plus, I don't consider end times part of 8th edition, so people wanting to play that could look elsewhere. I.e. a legions section.
Guess its better than a single forum.

We also could split it by Death (undead of either 8th ed flavor) Destruction (Ogres and Greenskins) Order (Elves, Lizards, dwarves, empire, Brets) Chaos (everyone else)
Or just Good guys. Bad guys.
or heck just 'tactics' all comers.

I think it's a good idea to link the different Chaos factions together. Same with Undead. I mean...at one time they were single books, but that was a long time ago.
It will make searching easier I think.

I don't like the "Death, Destruction, Order and Chaos" idea. That's too AoS. It also confuses me since Wood Elves, Lizardmen, and Tomb Kings are all neutral armies. They don't fit in any of those categories. Remember, this is EIGTH EDITION for life! It should reflect as such.

Don't like the AoS categories either. I would suggest not having tons of subforums with little traffic. One way of going about this: if people were disciplined enough to put the name of the army in the thread title, one could easily find all relevant threads for your army of interest years later.
But, this organizational stuff isn't a biggie.
oh and: End Times is very much 8th edition. I see it as just a bunch more optional stuff to mix up our games. I wouldn't want every single game with everybody's wizard raising skeletons...just like I wouldn't want every game a Storm of Magic. But, there is a time and place.

I'm fine with lumping stuff together but should definitely stay away from the AOS subfaction headings.

oh and: End Times is very much 8th edition. I have a different opinion. 8th started with each army book (updated or otherwise) and it was only when GW wanted to wrap up Warhammer did a select few armies get additional rules and models. In some ways ET was a modellers' dream. On a business front, selling books and limited edition cards was excellent not to mention loads of undead models, thing that gets my goat though, not every army benefited by getting new stuff. Not gonna stop anyone playing it, just don't want to play it myself. Greg

BUT if someone wants to play a friendly game using the ET rules, that's fine with me. It's not something that I'm wanting to adopt into my "normal" rule set. I see it as just an expansion or scenario that we can play. The main BRB is the main BRB. End Times doesn't trump it.

Probably too late now but I agree with this. Having loads of tiny sections seems a bit OTT. End Times, although not my cup of tea and propped up with lots of questionable fluff is just another option to play with

Around here it seems that the only ET aspect that stuck is the 50% Lords. I'm seeing a lot more lists that go heavy on the characters. Which is fine. More targets for my dwarf cannons and more EoTG rolls for my WoC characters.
I'm still playing [pure] 8th though myself.

Yeah I never minded the 50% Lords thing, if you want to go all in on a Lord on a Dragon etc that's fine by me

We don't use ET but sometimes play with max lvl 2 wizards so that you can take a dragonlord without missing the lvl 4
