So, do we have a tactics section? Obviously we write lists for critique but any suggestions get lost in that particular thread. For example I have found the best build for my Oldblood on Carnosaur is this: Oldblood (140) - Carnosaur (220), Loping Stride (15), Bloodroar (25), Other Trickster's Shard (15), Glittering Scales (25), Dawnstone (25), Fencer's Blades (35) = 500 ... It also frees up your hands for the Fencer's Blades (paired weapons - NOT additional hand weapon) which will give you WS10! Now, I spoke to my opponent and he’s not heard of this but agrees… thing is we probably have a lot of gems on this forum and we should put them all in a single place, either generic rules or army specific. I’d also like to suggest we have army specific tactics. Possibly with a player or two that have those armies as the “font of all knowledge” which is rather subjective as we all have different ways of playing e.g. Mate of mine plays TK, he never used the hierotitan or casket until I suggested it but he still plays with death magic while I prefer light. It’s down to opinion but I’d like to see somewhere where we can look at the different tactics and opinions listed somewhere. Any thoughts? Greg

There's a post here but I'm thinking on individual pieces actually written by members here, sure copy and paste some pieces (give credit by all means) but we could have a couple of players that actually use the armies and get genuine input rather than some trash written by a third party who doesn't even own the book. Regards Greg

Also could pull some stuff over from other forums. I've got a list of pinned threads from older editions of WFB on the Daemonic Legion forum that I could look through. Some of these older race specific forums might close down over time.

Some of these older race specific forums might close down over time. Yeah, I think this will totally happen and soon. Some have already started being abandoned.

There needs to be some good organization here so that finding this info is quick and easy. That's going to be the most difficult part of having a thread like this.

Kinda... Yes, thank you but I'm sure it would be better if we could have something for each army, for example VC & TK play differently so why are they grouped? If its because they're undead then why aren't Dark, high and wood elves grouped? Dame can be said for Chaos and normal Dwarves... Please can you make for each army. Cheers Greg

I also request that there be a Dogs of War section as I intend to write a definite 8th compendium for Regiments of Renown and normal DoW units. Come on, even CA have tried their grubby hands at raising back DoW and yet this most historic and interesting of factions can't even feature in the last bastion of Warhammer Fantasy?

I'll add DOW. I intend to write DOW army book too, but in the future...
I like Undead and Chaos as one forum. That way, people can discuss certain units and/or legion lists without getting lost. Perhaps a vampire player is adding a Casket of Souls by using the Undead Legions or a Nurgle Daemon army is adding some Chaos Warriors, etc. It makes the most sense to talk about all this in one forum, rather then breaking them up between two or three (for Chaos) sub-forums.
Anyone else thoughts?

I admin the daemonic forum and moderate the herdstone forum. In my experience excessive splitting isn't helpful particularly if the volume of traffic on the board/subsections is low. For example are we going to have more then 6 or so threads in most of these subs in the next year? If not why have a bunch of splits. If you want to learn about something you will have to click multiple sub race forums just to find 1-2 threads. It's better to spark discussion with larger groups of threads (you came looking for empire information but found the Bret tactics really interesting) rather then a bunch of low interest subs that folks won't enter unless they are super interested. Optimally someone who didn't know they were interested in Bret tactics would add to the discussion on that thread if they have a question or comment. That furthers the community discussino. If they never see that interesting Bret thread that won't happen. Better to see how much traffic there is and decide if you need another split then to oversplit early.
TL;DR In other words I'm a lumper rather then a splitter.
