In regards to being chaffed up, remember, it works both ways. I think ryryak is correct in that you need to get plenty of chaff on the board to counter his only option to stop you. Chaff his units, use your unkillable characters and chariots to counter his, charge your DP into his lines as fast as possible and tie them up while your Warriors advance. Blow the heck out of his other, secondary stuff with your Cannon. You got this easy.

@ryryak I love the feeling of metal minis but hate all the chipping when they fall...

Mine have two coats of gloss varnish and a coat of matte varnish applied to them before I start playing. I do not like going back and touching up/repainting models I've already done so I do my best to make sure that never happens. One of my hellcannons once got knocked off a table by some idiot with a backpack (my hellcannons are metal) onto a hardwood floor and all that happened was the base got broken and the spikes up top got bent. (I also pin the crap out of my models) Didn't even need touching up With proper care and preparation metal models *shouldn't* ever chip their paint.

Yes, that Daemon Prince Model is an old Belakor the first Daemon Prince character. I actually got rid of one quite a few years ago and I'm kicking myself now I want him back yep, kick yourself, hard! I vaguely remember there were rules for Belakor at the very tail end of 8th edition, maybe in one of these digital only 'battle scrolls'? There is only one sculpt although it was available in metal and later finecast. And, I support everything said about the importance of chaff and maneuvering (and that includes maneuvering the big 'hulk smash' unit or else it won't get the chance to do much smashing).

It was that Storm of Chaos supplement. It was where the rules came out for Daemonic Legions, Slaanesh Cults, Slayer Armies, and a couple other ones. I seem to remember an Empire one, a high elf one themed around the sea (didn't they get a free turn of shooting before the game even started or something crazy?) I also think the Teutogen guard came out here as well? Man...all these old models I wish I had I lost that book too over the ages; I went looking for it a couple years ago and could never find it.

ryrak, you are thinking of the original Storm of Chaos. Belakor indeed was in that book (along with all the other stuff you remember). This was way pre-8th though. Belakor did make a brief rule-wise appearance in 8th edition. My google fu (as well as knowledge of the seedier parts of the internet) is weak so I can't find the pdf. But, this podcast episode announcement proves I am not making it up (note the date, 2013, so back in the glory days): baddice.co.uk/daily386/

I of course have a copy at the house, so if you want any pictures of specific armies etc, let me know (I might even have a scanned copy - on holiday ATM so will check when home).

The option of a river section is new. It's also interesting the the river appears to be designed to slot into something rather than lay flat on the table (or that's what it appears from the edges).

I really hope you paint every brick a different color! Lol, that would be awesome! Base coat of grey (or beige - whatever direction you go with), base wash, then different colored washes (for differentiation), and drybrush! Well, that's probably what I'd do in your position. One day maybe...
