So my friends run Dwarfs, Skaven and OnG. They all bring alteast 2 warmachines per game and hit every time (atleast thats how it feels) I am trying to make a list to bring to multiple games and maybe just change wizard lore. So this is my thoughts on the list. I think about a hortenze lord for chasing WM. Blasted standard on warriors. Marouders with spears to also help out. And the same with chimera. Wiz with DS needed agaist dredded 13 and gork stomp. Also think about death as lore or metal vs dwarves. Also thinking about dropping some Warriors and breath on chimera to add ward on bsb and wiz. Or just a better BSB in general. That Lord is mean against pretty much anything. You can point him at whatever is the biggest threat and he will either kill them outright or hold them up for the entire game. He does seem a bit overkill to go after war machines. Couldn't a hero on disk with a charmed shield kill them dead just a quickly? I think in your list above you have the horsemen and in a pinch the chimera. that is already plenty WM hunting.

You could always take a more expensive sorceror (lord) and kit out a hero on disc to go war machine hunting as Naitsabes suggests

Yeah I have been thinking about it. We run 25% lords and heroes so far. Against Dwarfs I am going to face flaming cannon balls so Chimera will die, unless I can hide it first turn and I go first Marauder should not have light armour as it will remove Vanguard so I will fix that. EDIT: The thing is I am not sure about having the BSB so far away from the core. And the LD on chimera is so low that if its loosing a reroll will not matter anyway. But a generals LD will help it.But with that said. will be pretty spread out with Chimera, Marauder horsemen and disc hero/BSB anyway so it might not help much.

How cheap are the Exalted Heroes? Maybe you can downgrade your Chaos Lord for two Exalted Heroes (both on Disks) and give one something simple like a Charmed Shield, so that he can push up and tie units up in combat. If you are worried about generating enough CR with one, charge both of them at one enemy. Give your opponent too many choices to shoot at. Some will make it through. Plus, with some cheap protection like the Charmed Shield or even the Ironcurse Icon, you might get lucky.
If you are facing a Dwarf Lord on Shield bearers, just avoid him until you've killed everything else in his army. He can't chase you down easily (He'll have to be awfully lucky) so take out his support, then gang up on him all at once.

Yeah, for around the same cost you can take 1 (lvl3) Sorceror Lord with scroll & 2 Exalted Heroes, one for the BSB and one unkillable kitted out on the disc. True the BSB doesn't get any gubbins that way unless you free up some points elsewhere and you can't afford the Crown of Command on the disc hero.

As many as you have points for. It's a mount option for anyone with the Mark of Tzeentch.
EDIT: Marauder Horsemen. Light Cavalry and vanguard moves are your friend here for dealing with warmachines. I never leave home anymore without two units of 5 armed with spears. Also a hero/bsb mounted on a disc make for a very effective anti-warmachine unit.
You should also be pushing for LoS blocking terrain in the middle of the board. You shouldn't have to endure turn after turn of open ground; that favors gunline type armies. You should (ideally) be giving them ONE turn to shoot at your monsters/disc characters before they're in combat. Time it so that everything is out at once and they have more targets than they can deal with. Don't spoon feed those cowards and their guns your army piecemeal.

I'd make sure to get him that 3+ ward save. I'd drop flaming breath from the chimera. It's awesome but at 1500 you can't have everything, ESPECIALLY with how expensive WoC are. The sorc has the warriors to hide in get him an enchanted shield for that 2+ save and call it good. Also you can't have a dispel scroll and a chaos familiar they're both arcane items; the points you free up there could be used to get him something defensive (like a ward save). EDIT: I like great weapons on my disc characters. yes they go last but they're so tanky that it doesn't matter. Going at S7 is really nice. Also lets you charge units of heavy knights and chop them up real good. Halberd is good if you'd rather go at initiative; that's something you'll have to determine on your own

Well, I'd think that if your opponents are Dwarfs, Skaven and O&G, then the Halberd might be a good choice. Dwarfs might require a GW if you want to be sure to get through that armor though. I tend to agree with Ryryak that you need more protection on your BSB.

I thought about bringing both bsb and wiz with the warriors. The extra hero free wm hunting on disc. Still have 10 more points. Thinking either remove flaming breath and add two more warriors or maybe javelin on both marauders horsemen.
