Hello all,
As I pointed out in my painting log, I have a 3000 point game tomorrow. This is the list I plan to run that has all the proposed additions. If I like it (still no fellblade warlord so how good can it be really?) then I'll keep it as my planned 3000 point list to grow my current 2000 point list into. As always, this list is take all comers; I strongly believe in "a single list to rule them all" philosophy.
The List:
Lords Grey Seer (general) w/ Earthing Rod, Talisman of Preservation
Heroes Chieftan (bsb) w/ shield, armor of destiny Warlock Engineer w/ doom rocket Warlock Engineer w/ death globe Warlock Engineer w/ lvl 1 upgrade, dispel scroll Warlock Engineer w/ obsidian lodestone Warlock Engineer
Core 50 slaves w/ musician 50 slaves w/ musician 50 slaves w/ musician 28 clanrats w/ full command, poison wind mortar 5 giant rats w/ packmaster 5 giant rats w/ packmaster 5 giant rats w/ packmaster 5 giant rats w/ packmaster 50 Stormvermin w/ full command, razor standard, poison wind mortar
Special 40 Plague Monks w/ full command, plague banner 9 gutter runners w/ slings, poison attacks 9 gutter runners w/ slings, poison attacks
Rare Hell Pit Abomination Warp Lightning Cannon Warp Lightning Cannon Doomwheel

Needs more rats. Just kidding. Three blocks of 50 slaves. I prefer two blocks of 70 but to each his own. Lots of engineers...do you have enough teleports to get rid of them all?

The slave issue is still up in the air. I worry about being able to keep all 3 within range of the general and bsb. I'm also going to have to think about the grow up to 5000 points as well and how many units of slaves I'm going to have and how I'm going to make sure they have a decent LD. If I stick characters in the unit to give them a good LD then I'm no longer able to fire into that combat so I have to ask myself if I'm okay with that. Doubtful I'll have enough skitterleaps to get rid of all the warlocks but I'm hoping to be able to just march out of my blocks as a way to redirect and avoid combat for a turn or two. If it doesn't work then I'll revisit the list/tactics. The jump to 4000 will add either another grey seer or a fellblade warlord depending on how I feel about the magic phase. I'm also planning on 2 more cannons and a plague priest on furnace. I'm hoping to completely overwhelm the enemy cannons I'm also unsure about weapon teams. They're expensive and easily disposed of. I went with the mortars because they're easy to hide (they don't need LoS) and they ignore armor, something I'm hoping to take advantage of.

I've had success with an engineer in slave block with doomrocket...and once with -1 to hit item. 50 was too small for me. Extra warlord is always fun, bonebreaker boy or fellblade. No plague furnace? Did more for me than Bell.

I'm hoping to eventually get a Plague Furnace too. The whole Plague theme for Skaven seems incredibly fun to me.
The Weapon Teams Mortar always seems like the way to go for me as well. They simply don't get in the way. (Side question - Does anyone ever use the Warp Grinder Team or Doom Flayer?)

Did more for me than Bell. 50 may be too small for a game this size. I'll find out tonight! Also I don't own a plague furnace and the game is tonight so... I'm planning to pick up a get started box for the plague furnace and another cannon so eventually...
