Just so you all know, I am using a character from the End times books because I've been wanting to field a verminlord since I started skaven! This list isn't super strong but it's a skaven list that is meant for combat. What do you guys think?
Verminlord Corruptor
Plague priest (general) on furnace w/ flail and 4+ ward save, lvl 2 mage
Plague priest w/ flail, lvl 1 dispel scroll
30 clanrats w/ shields + poison wind mortar 30 clanrats w/ shields + poison wind mortar 40 slaves w/ musician 40 slaves w/ musician 40 slaves w/ musician 5/1 giant rat pack 5/1 giant rat pack
34 plague monks full command + plague banner 5 censer bearers
2 Abombs

First off...Skaven made for COMBAT?!?!?!? Lol! But true, it actually sounds like a really fun list! 2 Abombs! Does that mean your opponent gets to take 2 Stanks? The only thing that I might say needs a bit more is your Slaves could use about 10 more to each unit. 50 Slaves a tarpit make. If you need to shave points, how about dropping one Slave unit so and use the points to round the other two Slave units to 50 and the rest in more Rat Darts?

40 slaves just isn't enough. I regularly take 50 and even against the empire they don't last as long as I want them to.
30 is what I'd consider a "minimum" unit for clanrats, as you'll be able to take a few casualties and still be at maximum LD. They will not however stay for long in a protracted combat. If all you're taking them for is for the weapon teams and for some flank threatening then they'll do well.
I'd also contend that you don't have enough plague monks in the monk unit. T4 with no armor save is actually surprisingly squishy, although I suppose that depends on what armies you regularly fight against. I know that the plague furnace will be here (pushing the footprint up to 49) but I'd consider 10 more bodies as a minimum size if you want to stick around for more than a few rounds of combat and/or be able to fight more than just once. I'm unsure where to get the points for more bodies though...
if it were me...
I'd combine the slaves into two units of 60. That would give you plenty of tarpit material; go after his hardest hitting units and try and tie them up all game while you kill something else with your combat troops.
I'd convert the censer bearers into more bodies for the main block. Right now all they're doing with those numbers is providing chaff protection. If that's what you need though then keep them they're a fun unit to use.
I'd probably increase the size of one of the clanrat units to make it a proper combat unit (40-50 models) and then with the saved points add more bodies to the plague monks.
I actually like this list a lot...I may consider trying out something similar.

Wel, I would...do what Ryryak said actually. Wow, that was easy to type.

Out-deploying my opponent is really important to me, so more units is the key to success. I didn't build the list to be super hard, although two abombs isn't nice, I didn't throw two seers, two WLCs or even the doomrocket in (which is ALWAYS in my skaven army). I can cut the censors and combine the three slaves into two 60's, I also used to run 2 small rat ogre packs, I may try that out too.

What about more Rat Darts? Those are great chaff/redirectors.

Agreed. If you want to outdeply your opponent bring a bunch of rat darts.
My beastmen army has 8 units of chaff (3 5-man ungor raiders, 3 Razorgors, and 2 5-man units of chaos hounds) at 2000 points. Oftentimes your entire army is down before I've even deployed my first combat block. rat darts at 23 points a pop are an amazing way to get the drop on your opponent.

Especially if you want those choice match-ups for your Verminlord and Abombs. I'd worry a bit about clogging things up too much for them to really maneuver well.

You could deploy all the rat darts on a flank. If the entire point of bringing them is just for outdeployment you don't even need to place them somewhere where they'd be in the way.
Or just place them against your table edge behind everything else and let them be a second wave to protect your flanks of the important units.

I was going through all of my skaven models, and I have a lot! Because of the old GT player in me, I won't field any more than 3 of the same unit in an army (unless it's an all chariot army lol). I made another list, but it's not themed and has a doomwheel, just because I have the model (actually two)

There's nothing wrong with a Doomwheel or two....well, I suppose there could be...it is a Skaven piece of engineering after all...
Personally, I LOVE themed lists! That's where the fun is for me. It may not be the most competitive build, but by gosh, I'm gonna have fun! Besides, tons of tarpits and several heavy-hitters sounds like a good mix. I think you're good as long as you have a strategy for stopping Cannonballs!
