It doesn't have to be blood either. I just finished my Medusa from the Cauldron kit and I think that the droplets will fit in just fine with the aesthetic that has already proceeded this release.

Odd how a technique used in 8th ed without complaint is now aesthetically unpleasing in the AoS era. Almost as if something else was motivating the assessment then the actual sculpting.

Those huge liquid drops are silly and cartoonish on Morathi, on the medusa from 8th, the sword of Empire Captain who has behaeded an orc and on Konrad von Carstein.

Well, I suppose they're not for everybody. I don't mind them so much on the Medusa and Morathi models because it looks like they just shed a snake skin or something and have a fresh mucus membrane still dripping off of them. Something vile that you wouldn't want to touch - directly opposing to Morathi's unequaled beauty. - P.S. - The Kharibdyss also has 'em too! Also, I was wondering why you haven't joined the forum yet, And again...? Lol, you've already made more posts than a lot of our "members". And it is quite apparent that you feel very passionately about 8th edition and could have some productive contributions. Why not?

The drops on blades has always looked bad. I don't mind the other examples but I think it's a perfectly fair criticism.

I think the lore surrounding this new Witch Elf faction is poor but I certainly enjoyed the Jeremy Vetock video including the awesome miniature shots. It's imo one of the best AOS videos that Games Workshop has put out and Jeremy's passion shines through. I certainly recommend it for a quick watch. All of the models I think are pretty cool and they can all be reverse engineered into 8th pretty easily! I'm not big on the blood drops, but I don't mind them that much. Dark Elf form Morothai looks great without the wings (imo significantly better) and those bleeding wings make epic conversion bits for something like a Daemon Prince. Kharydibis kit is pure epic with or without drops. I really rate that kit and only noticed 1 poison drop which I was fine with.
