I got a little burnt out after the tournament I was in last year for eefl. Between painting a full army in about 3 weeks, which I can only blame myself, and then the tournament I haven't played much. I still love 8th with all my gaming heart. I need to play again ik. My second issue I'm having is without a direction, a date and time to finish an army, I can't choose what to paint. I have empire, dwarves, wood elves, more brettonians, warriors of chaos, and skaven all to paint. When I say "I'm going to paint (insert army here)". I find I loose interest quickly. But in time that will be fixed.

I think we all suffer from that problem to some degree. I have so many projects sitting unfinished for my 10 armies, that it can easily get overwhelming! And like you, as soon as I start a project, I'll look at something else and start dreaming about what I could do with that one! Lol!

Keep bringing folks to the forum. I try to get a new referral here every few weeks.

Perhaps we need a painting challenge thread? I used to give folks three tries at bat as it were: first time no effect on the unit, second time fielded with no paint- minus one toughness, etc. was good motivation in the group to paint when folks saw a unit die from toughness zero.

I am an original (founding member) and you have seen a reduction in my WFB posts since the end of the summer. I do check in daily and post here or there but many of my uploads are 40K projects in the Other than 8th section. I've been busy coaching FIRST Robotics, building a home theater, and dabbling in 40K. I'm still around though.

Lol! You've been called out! It's at the top of the painting section in a special pinned category. I've even started a bi-monthly modeling/painting challenge for the group within each of our own personal goals we set for ourselves. The current challenge for last month and this month is: Unit filler! (Whatever you want it to be. Size, theme, etc.) Due by the end of the month. There are no restrictions. It can be whatever you're working on as well. It doesn't have to be Fantasy (although that mostly what's posted there.) The point is sharing your work, motivating and inspiring others (hopefully). Lookin' forward to seein' what you got!

I'm proud of all of us here. I truly am. You guys are a dedicated lot with great aspirations to keep 8th alive.
Every now and again, we all need reminding that, after a manner, we are the last bastion of 8th. We need to keep a vigilant watch.

That'll be my contribution... I'll leave the painting to you artsy, creative types!

I am thinking about filming too or twitch live stream... the problem is our native language when we play is Swedish so don't think anyone would be interested

It might make it difficult. As long as you could see stuff like dice rolls and such, the language might not be needed. Though probably best edited and posted to YouTube.
