Well, I have gone and done something crazy. But I have no regrets. I’ll give the background first.
I got a good sized e-bay gift certificate for Christmas and had been looking around for some minis to add to my dwarves, skaven or lizardmen but wasn’t getting excited about anything. Despite looking around on occasion for something new for over two months I hadn’t made a single purchase. I guess I have got to the point with those armies that my collection is very sizable and I really don’t need anymore.
Part two, I have been working on acquiring and reading all of the 8th edition army books. The most recent I purchased was Orcs and Goblins. Most every army book I read I get all excited about the army and get the urge to start collecting said army. However I have always fought back this urge and stuck to my three existing armies (which are the only ones I have ever collected).
I mentioned to a friend that I had been reading the Orc and Goblin army book and thought they would be cool to collect and he tells me he has two new in box goblin wolf chariots that I could have for cheap. So I go on e-bay and start looking around and I have made a few purchases over the past week.
My theme for this army is going to be a fully mounted army. I’m thinking goblin wolf riders, goblin spider riders, orc boar boyz, tons of chariots, an arachnarok spider and at least one character on wyvern. I am going to expand the story to include greater detail but haven’t got there yet. A motto from the warboss something like “If yer can’t keep pace wid me boar then we ain’t got no place for yer mob” would pretty much sum up my vision.
My purchases so far are 4 metal boar boyz with plastic boars, two plastic orc boar chariots and a metal boss on plastic boar. All of this is unassembled. Plus the two plastic goblin wolf chariots that my friend offered that are in the box. I haven’t received any of this yet but it should start showing up at home over the next few days. I still have some of the gift card left but am going to hold of on purchasing anymore right now. I want to get building my current purchases first. I will take photos of the new minis as they come in.
Anyways, I plan to document my work here so check in on occasion.

It's a nice theme for an orc and gobz army. I particularly like the orc boar boyz, they are amongst my favorite models.
Will keep following !

Great! How did you keep the urge down for so long? I tell myself I have to wait before I can buy new units all the time but never manage more than a week or two before a little eBay package show up at the door

Rest of my recent purchases have arrived. This bad boy. I think I will figure out some type of flag to use for him for the back banner and he will be a BSB. And two of these chariots. They are both identical. I have been assembling the boar boyz and am close to done with building them.

Small update, I finished assembling these bad boyz. The orcs are not actually glued to the boars yet. I think for painting I may leave them apart. I haven’t really decided yet. It turns out after 15 years of painting I have only painted a few cavalry models so I don’t have a standard routine. Same with the shields, I’m thinking I will leave apart for easy access. The only thing I am unsure of is will gluing after painting leave a residue that is visible over the paint? And I started work on building an orc boar chariot over the weekend. The more things change the more they stay the same. My first ever warhammer purchase was the 6th edition boxed game set which included that orc chariot. I traded or sold those minis off long ago and now here I am rebuying some of the same ones...

About the glue after painting, it might leave a small residue if you're not careful. It seems like a smart move not to glue the orcs on the boars right away and to wait to finish the painting first. For the shields, it is maybe not as necessary but I am no painting expert and I guess everyone does as he pleases.
What you say about things staying the same makes me think that I am in the exact same situation as you are. I started Warhammer almost 15 years ago with a box of skeletons, some grave guards, and a black coach. I sold everything after a few years. Guess what I just bought few days ago ? The same old metal grave guards, and the same black coach. Black coach is painted already but I'm gonna go back to painting the same grave guards models that I started the hobby with back in the days. It's a weird and awesome feeling at the same time.
Long live Warhammer fantasy !

If you have the time I do recommend painting them separately. Same goes for the shield.
You will need super glue and not plastic glue after painting (needed anyway as they are metal).
