As is being discussed here over on Chaos Dwarfs Online, CDO is going for a cleaner consolidation of forums (cutting down from 24 to 14-15 or thereabouts). As I remarked in the discussion, the separate subforums for Ravening Hordes (6th edition) and LoA (8th edition) Daemonsmith's Handbook (tactics) and Army Specific Tips is a resource for players of old editions. We'll see how the plans will become, but it's likely that these subforums will be phased out and merged with one big Tactics & Battle Reports forum. We might do it in steps and have everything copied over into one handy compilation for 6th and 8th edition players respectively, in an ideal scenario. First however, I'd like to ask if there is anyone, or perhaps several people, here on EEFL who might consider salvaging this for their own interest by copying over into threads on EEFL or some kind of Google Drive PDF? You may know best yourselves how to do this and how to structure it for your own handy use. Cheers!

Sounds like a job for our resident Dawi Zharr - strutsagget or Naitsabes - it'd be good to have a Chaos Dwarf unit/tactics guide here.

I would be happy copy-pasting it here at EEFL If I am allowed. Of course, referencing back to CDO as thx. I love the handbook and have read a lot in the different tactics sections at CDO

More than allowed, of course! We'd be delighted if anyone could do it. Be welcome to! No stress, obvioulsy. But whenever you're done, please tell us about it on CDO. Then we know it's safe to merge it.

If separate, then I’ll help moving some of it over.

strutsagget, I’ve done some work on the Hellcannon and will post it after I’ve eaten as it’s own post. It is an amalgamation of the various posts on the CDO forum. Take a look and let me know what you think

although it certainly should be displayed more prominently. And, if CDO gets reorganized, maybe hosting the file over here would be good?

Sounds like a job for our resident Dawi Zharr - strutsagget or Naitsabes - it'd be good to have a Chaos Dwarf unit/tactics guide here. I haven't yet played a single game with them. Painting first for me. That being said, I can help with copy-paste but looks like you guys are making good progress.

admiral - what sort of timescale are you looking at for the potential merging of boards on the CDO site? I've started to collate the various posts into single articles but it is time consuming (as you might expect).

knoffles : I'm well acquainted with organized copy-paste salvage courtesy of Photobucket, and yep, it's time consuming! Thanks for asking, but truly: You yourselves set the timescale, or perhaps, ignore timescale and just let yourself do it without a single thought of deadlines. Take it as it suits you, then notify me here or the whole forum over on CDO, and we'll know when it's good to merge. I've told the others to hold off merging the Ravening Hordes and LoA subsections until they have been salvaged in a structured manner. I've not got the knowhow to touch the forums in Admin CP, so whatever reorganization crystallize will happen at the behest of other staffers. It could be a matter of weeks or even months, but even so I'll be sure to remind others not to merge these special sections until they're all tagged as salvaged. If you finish it in days, then that's great. In weeks, that's great, too. In many months's time, then that's also great. No one will be upset if fate conspires for it to take over a year. It's more important that you can do this properly and without someone breathing down your necks: Good, useful end results is all that matter, ticking clocks don't. As a lifelong enemy of deadlines that's all I can say. No one is getting paid for it, and there is no techical reason why parts of the forum couldn't be left as is for a while and then get merged at a second stage of consolidation, so no need to stress

Howdy lads! Just a heads-up that Jasko on CDO has started adding onto the 8th edition tactica discussions. Check out this and this section, and look for posts from 2019. There might be more to come from him in the Tactics forum. Just mentioning in case of interest for the compilation work. Oh, and if you have anything to add, then doing so on CDO should encourage him.
