Unlike 9th Age, it would be nice to work something out and run with it, rather than create a never finished/living document.

I am sure you have. Would like to read what you've written. I guess there is a consensus that something must be done to fix the Bret codex, but not exactly what. Devil's in the details and all that. I might stand behind it as well. If I could ever read a copy. But this forum guards it too tightly.

I'm really liking this update. I've wanted to play brets for an age but was always put off as I'd want to do individual coats of arms but frankly didn't think my skills with a brush were up to it. I do have a query and it is why you went down the route of combined profiles? I'm not against it but it does put this list out of sync vs the other standard 8th army books (sorry if this has been answered elsewhere). Is it because this list is aimed at being set around end times (I seem to remember some of the rules there used combined profiles). P.s looking forward to Tristan's rules as recently picked up his side kick, jules le jongleur for a £1 at a bring and buy stall. Total steal!

Hi Knoffles,
I'm going to upload draft IV at some point over the summer. Tistan's rules will be in there. The biggest change is I'm getting rid of the peasant's duty special rule. I don't think it's needed. The Field Warden can boost commoners and I believe the army special rules should focus on the knights.
Regarding combined profiles, I think that move in the End Times books makes a lot of sense. Many players stay away from mounting characters on monsters because cannons are so powerful. Without messing with cannons, the combined monster profile provides enough durability for the monster rider so that they can take a cannon ball hit and not auto die. I am considering providing rules for both combined profiles and also separate profiles and so players could choose...

Do that! Cannons are the only reason I dont field my manticore or my chaos dragon as mounts for my chaos characters. When a character who costs almost 1000 points dies to a single cannonball turn one it doesn't provide motivation to keep using him.
Although something will have to be done about Tzeentch...no way a chaos lord on dragon should have a 3++ rerolling 1's ward save that also applies to the mount...
