Well, my Heirotitan just arrived! Overall, I'm quite satisfied with it. I've held out for years and years for a good one, and this model has me quite happy.

they are a little clunky, but i think it fits with the whole constructed from stone idea

Yeah. Might look better painted. Thing is, GW never made one, and I doubt they'll be on their "to-do" list anytime soon. Never say never though. In the meantime, this is the best I've found.

Looks good to me, got to love all these other companies picking things up or filling in gaps after GW abandoned their best setting, reminds me similar to what happened with Blood Bowl, so many awesome alternative sculpts for that game too, most my teams are not GW minis.

Same for me. Unless a team comes in the main game box (and isn’t one of the old metal teams) I haven’t purchased a recent one from GW. My main issue is that they only ever sell 12 models. 3rd parties in general have amazing sculpts now. Some of the 3D renders I’ve seen for STL files for printing also look incredible (let alone the quality alternative mighty empire tiles). It almost makes me want to get a printer (though I’ve yet to see really high quality models off a personal printer, most have just been decent).

I am not really there yet with printer. Think the quality is missing that last step. But give it a year or two it will probably be closer to GW sprue quality.

Yeah, that's why I've held off for so long too. But I'm really interested in this Elegoo brand. It's extracted from a pool of plastic (I think) upside down and avoids the striations from the layering of other printers. All of the STL file prints I've seen from it have looked quite good and smooth.

Mantic have announced they are going to (finally) revamp their Empire of Dust range, and so far they have teased new plastic Skeletons: Plastic Revenant Cavalry (They've confirmed that the barding is optional for the steeds, so Tomb Kings Skeleton Horsemen can be built from the set): And improved resin Enslaved Guardians (Ushabti in Tomb King parlance): I've always liked the more ornate look of the Empire of Dust range (compared to GW's 6th Edition Skeletons that had very little to tell they were Egyptian other than their shields), and these models certainly bring that to the fore, not to mention that they look a lot better than the current metal ones (which are still decent in my eye but certainly needed improvement). Some of the weapons are thicker than normal but this can be amended. I'd like to think that this is just the tip of the iceberg as well - given these chaps won't be arriving until the second quarter of the year, I imagine Mantic won't spill all the beans until around March/April, so I'll be kept in suspense until then! Affordable Tomb King models are back!

I never had much interest in Tomb Kings as an army until I read the Nagash trilogy of novels and very recently the Gotrek & Felix novel set in that region, now they are top of my list of armies to collect so sharing these model options from other companies is appreciated.

I was thinking 'meh' to the Mantic skeletons (personal preference and all that) but I'm really digging these Norba guys. The headdresses, weapons and shields look great. I have a fair few oop unassembled GW skeletons (both TK and about 3 different GW types from various generations) and these look like they will mix/blend in very well. 2022 year of the Tomb Kings let's goooo!

Norba seem to be on a roll of late, with another impressive move... Plastic Fimir! Interesting that they've gone the route of making their iterations of these much-maligned cyclopean reptiles human-size and on 25mm bases, as had originally been intended, rather than the Monstrous Infantry versions that were cooked up in 3rd Edition and replicated in 8th Edition - anyone who has toyed with converting a Fimir army based on the HeroQuest versions will be pleased! I'm working on another fan-made list that melds Fimir in with the AoS Kruleboyz (which in Fantasy will be called Boggarts based upon a small amount of fluff from the Greenskins 8th Ed Book) to make a Denizens of the Swamps list, so these chaps will provide some excellent additional inspiration for the list.

Those look great, made me check out the other miniatures Norba produce too, for those who have purchased from them before, what is the quality of the final product?
