the 6th Edition State Troopers look like proper humans compared to the hunchbacked, deformed half-trolls in the 7th Edition kit). ...quoted for truth (tough in my army even half-trolls can and will defend the Empire). Hobby shops and sometimes even flea markets can be like treasure chests, unaffected from crazy ebay prices. But depending on where you live these chests may be far and few between.

Nice job on the Spearmen. Itβs good to see a different regions colours and Iβm always blown away by freehand work. π

They look awesome! You don't see too many HE armies being worked on anymore. I think a lot of people got tired of them being "too good".

You don't see too many HE armies being worked on anymore. I think a lot of people got tired of them being "too good". That's a shame, but when building my armies I prefer to build army lists that principally look thematic, as if it were a typical army that race would field, and if it is competitively good, that's an extra bonus. I'm surprised by people going on about High Elves being 'too good' as they're certainly not broken in the way Warriors of Chaos are. They do have some strong stuff (like the Frostheart and Banner of the World Dragon) but firstly these are still counterable and secondly, as I have mentioned before, I don't go overboard on competitiveness so I only use competitive choices if they look good and fit my army especially well.

I hear ya' sir! I do the exact same thing! If it fits my theme, I'll play it, even if it may be a sub-optimal choice. (I.E. - choosing Corsairs over Witch Elves, simply because I'm running a Black Arc theme.)
And, yeah, I feel the same way about High Elves and WoC. I think things like the Frostheart are good, but FAR from OP. Heck, mine dies in half of my HE games. Whereas, if someone plays a Demon Prince in my local gaming group, and it doesn't die in turn one, the game is pretty much decided after that. People like to comment on how much he costs, and I'm just like, "Exactly! That's a TON of points denial!" Escalated by the fact that there's usually an unkillable character in tow as well. Because those games are usually a waste of time for most of us (who want an actual back-and-forth battle), we have mostly shunned the use of WoC in our group. Occasionally, someone will really want to use their DP build, and one of us will humor them, but those games usually leave both sides really feeling... unfulfilled.
