I'm looking to put together an Orcs & Goblins 1800 points list, in theory to use for Riotville next year. In practice, I may well chop and change things, but I want to use this list as a challenge to get all the required models painted up this year.
The idea is to try to use my favourite O&G models - those that got me into collecting the army, and some of my favourite ones I've picked up/converted since. That means trying to get the following in:
I know the list is not going to be the strongest, but hopefully it should be fun. The aim is to try and make things "somewhat work" within the constraints of what I want to bring. I think it would be sensible to try to fit a BSB in there; the idea of the cavalry units is to have something fast with a champion that can rush into a combat with the Shaman to take a nasty challenge if needs be. I think the Black Orcs are going to be the hardest to fit into the army points-wise, so I have another list or two that drops them (though I'd much prefer not to).
Here are some initial list ideas:
Total: 1790 - I'm 5 points short of my core requirements. I'd prefer to have a Black Orc BSB or at least Goblin on Giant Spider, but can't find the points for it. This list feels dangerously short of bodies, but does manage to include all my favourites.
No Black Orcs:
Total: 1794. This solves the bodies problem. It lacks high strength attacks though, and I feel the Night Goblins are a bit too overdone. If I were to go down the "No Black Orcs" route, I'd probably prefer a solid unit of regular Orcs, though that will also leave me a little short on numbers. I've given it a go below though - this also lets me use the great Forge World Orc BSB model:
Total 1799.
I'm welcome to suggestions on how to try and make this work, but within the limitations of trying to keep all my preferred units in the army. I know Wolf Riders, Doom Divers, Mangler Squigs and so on would be stronger, but that's not the intention here.

- Savage Orc Shaman on Wyvern (the massive Mierce model, which I could only fit on a 100x60 base)
- Savage Orcs
- Forest Goblin Spider Riders
- Black Orcs
- Orc Boar Boyz
- Arachnarok Spider (modelled with Flinger)
- Snotling Pumpwagon
