Coool. I like it.
Needs more GW as "Can Openers" for opposing knights, DemiGriffs, Dwarfs, etc. I'd give the Lord a GW versus Filth Mace, but that's just me. I'd give the unit of Warriors with the BSB GWs... but that's just me.
**Edit, GW = +2S Great Weapons

I'm definitely not settled on the Filth Mace for the lord, but wouldn't it be a shame to waste the great initiative of the character on a GW? I have the same "worry" about equipping my warriors with GWs. In regard to the need of a can-opener I was thinking that I'd use the Sorcerer's Stream of Corruption for that. While far from reliable it is quite devastating when pulled off, especially against knights.

This is much debated thing in my own brain as well. It can sometimes be a match-up decision. I tend to decide that I don't need the quickness and I want to heavy punch. --But that's cause I want to kill DemiGriff Knights dead. So very dead. --Also, I want to kill Steam Tanks if and when I can. What did The Empire ever do to me??

I feel you, man. I haven't actually tried my hands at GW-wielding Warriors in a game and whenever I'm considering it I chicken out and go for the halberds.

I like halberds over great-weapons as it keeps the initiative and s5 is a lot of the times as good as s6(elves, rats).

Don't ask what the Empire did to you, but what you did to the Empire...

I could do 1000 words on this - Essentially, I go through match-ups.
Matchup 1). Elves. Chaos Warrior base S4 versus T3. Halberds now give me 2+ to wound. Maybe a GW would further reduce armor on a unit of Elf Knights, but - In general not worth it.
Matchup 2). Empire. Chaos Warrior base S4 versus T4 knights, I want that S6 making TO WOUND rolls at 2+. The prevalence of 1+ Armor saves in Empire armies make S6 even more attractive, etc etc.

You must face a lot of demigryphs and stanks as most of the stuff is T3 in empire I thought the daemon prince and lords/heros and so on should handle those pretty well? Or running metal sorc. I personally really like the metal sorc with woc.

Seeing as the elves would hit you first anyhow due to ASF would you really lose anything by going GWs against them? After all, the only good elf is a dead one.

Perhaps but there is a lot of the great elves that has GW(white lion, swordmaster, executioners and so on) and you want to hit em at same time. It’s a perplex question that might need a statistical table All I can say is that you usually win combat with WoC halberdiers no matter what you are up against. I find it usually doesn’t matter if you win combat with 10 or 12 😂🤪

Oh yeah, I forgot about that elves themselves can have GWs. With that in consideration I'd definitely go halberds against them.

But there is a lot of the great elves that has GW... white lion, swordmaster, executioners and so on Agreed. One of my fears is blocks of 30 to 40 White Lions and/or Sword Masters. That is a thing that Chaos Warriors can't always just rough up easily. That said, Halberds might be a better choice against those units. MATH-HAMMER time??
