Ok bois! I’m in a pickle... a bit of a boast and now I’m facing off against Dawi with Beasts... the boast included the fact I could kick his ass without using purple son or dwellers. So... I know he’s taking ungrim and slayers but that’s about all I know for sure. Cheesy bastard will take a shitload of cannons, with out a doubt. Here’s my list
Legions of Chaos 2 Legions of Chaos
Beastlord: Mark of Nurgle; Fencer's Blades; Glittering Scales; Talisman of Endurance 245
Great Bray-Shaman: Level 4 Wizard; Lore of Beasts; additional hand weapon; Skull of Rarkos; The Steel-claws 334
Wargor: Battle Standard Bearer; heavy armour; shield; Mark of Khorne; Gnarled Hide; The Beast Banner 216
Bray-Shaman: Level 2 Wizard; Lore of Beasts; Mark of Nurgle; Talisman of Preservation 165
Wargor: additional hand weapon; heavy armour; Mark of Khorne; Pelt of the Shadowgave; Ironcurse Icon 153
48 Gors: Foe-render; Musician; Standard Bearer; additional hand weapon; Mark of Khorne 505
5 Ungor Raiders 30

Help me brains trust, how do I win this?

I don’t know much about beastmen so can’t make many comments. But you mention you expect him to take several cannons. Based on that I would expect the two 275 point monsters to be toast before seeing combat as they are the main cannon target. So 550 VP’s to the dwarves without even seeing combat. I wonder if you should drop them for something else less cannon prone.

You can drop the AHW on the great bray as steel claws supersedes that. Then go crazy with the additional 2 points saved. Your welcome.

Have you got any Harpies? A unit or two of those with scout will give you the chance of getting the drop on his cannons (if you are still taking ghorgons). Also take the chalice of dark rain as that will mess with his shooting and warmachines.

The ghorgons are more than likely toast if he is bringing a bunch of cannons. You could drop one or both and bring harpies and/or ambushing raiders or gors to try to deal with those cannons. Or bring the chalice of dark rain as that will help for at least a turn of shooting.
Another idea since this is a larger points game, bring slugtongue and hopefully he will take out some of the cannons

So the BL will be hit on 6’s and have a 4+ward vs flaming.... he also has ToTS which will rake care of ungrim... I hope... the slayers will be hitting the beasts on 5’s for 4’s return from the beasts... I just don’t know if I want to engulfed the bastards at all... or if I should just throw chaff at them and ignore his slayers completely..... which in turn will change my entire army... the only thing I’m really happy with is my Tzeench bull with a 3+ ward rerolling 1’s ☹️and yea I got 2 units of 5 harpies I can take

If you are not happy with this list don’t take it. You won’t enjoy the game no matter the outcome.

I charged a unit of slayers with 5 tuskagor chariots before 5d6 strength 5 hits killed all the rank and file slayers with impact hits and no deathblows either ... so give them the tusk!

Also in the second list you are 15pts under minimum core allowance (735 out of 750).

imrillion This is a slightly adapted version of your first list, to add in scouting Harpies and the chalice of dark rain. I tried to keep it close to the original but I had to drop the level 2 and I’ve switched round the character load outs. For instance giving the LvL 4 the fencers blades to mitigate the lack of Ward. You also get an extra chariot. There is also a spare 5pts for something. In your original list the lvl4 would have needed a mark to join one of the units and the 2nd war Gor couldn’t have taken heavy armour as the Pelt is light armour (so it would have saved you 4pts). I say keep some kind of monster in the list. Beastmen just look better on the field with them.
Myself, prefer the Cygor over the Ghorgon. The Cygor can take out some of those Dwarf war machines from a distance.
Regardless of which you take use take them from Storm of Magic and save yourself some points. No one who is a decent player would fault you since Beastmen is already an over priced 7th ed book. Besides Storm of Magic monsters are fun for everyone, even your Dwarf friend might like to count some Fenbeasta as Stone Golems 😉

One thing to maybe also consider is using the warhammer armies project 8th ed armybook for beastmen. Its got more choices, plays well, and the points are generally better than the gw version. If you got spare time take a look.

I see 5 spare points in there so why not give 5 ungor raiders Mark of Slaanesh? Maybe Khorne says no? They will die so he'd probably be ok with it. Thiis gives them immune to panic so deployment wise this unit is best in the middle of the 3 ungor raider units. I'm always going to support double Ghorgons and if you can get the right matchup they can do real damage vs the slower dwarfs. Ironbreakers are ideal. If the Chalice is pumping that initial 14 inch march for each can set the scene for some stunty carnage! Slayers will mulch minotaurs, meanwhile your buffed Gor will actually do really well due to their number of attacks vs the big slayer unit. This is the main reason I prefer this list in the matchup to the minotaur one.
