Hi all, following up on my Tomb Kings book (there'll be a fresh link to that download tonight for those who wanted an updated copy) I'm well underway on the Bretonnians and Mousillon and should have two more books ready to go in in the next couple months. Questions and feedback always welcome. Mousillon loses a number of units, but gains some thematic new ones and both armies have their own unique magic item lists. Also, the dark duchy has "Vices" in place of Virtues
Once the first versions of those two books are released, my next projects will be Beastmen and Dwarfs

I'll be interested to see what you come up with for Bretonnia and Beastmen, because I'm working on books for the same two armies (though in reverse). Don't you go pinching any of my ideas Funny you should mention Mousillon, because I've uncovered some WHFRP lore that adds the Beastmen as a third faction in the Mousillon campaign, who sometimes even ally with Bretonnian peasants (or rather dupe the peasants to ally with them) to fight the Vampire Counts: warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Ograh_and_the_Harrowmaw_TribeI'm introducing Ograh as a character in my Beastman book, but otherwise you're free to add rules to your Mousillon or Beastman books or any Mousillon-themed campaigns you might have up your sleeve. You could even develop your own profile for Ograh if you wish, I'd be most intrigued to see what you come up with!

It's funny that for such a popular sub faction I haven't been able to find anyone else whose made a book for Mousillon. I'm sure our books will probably be very different. My project is set 20something years after the end times in a hypothetical alternative timeline, so a lot of it is based on older existing fluff, but there's also lots of new stuff I've just invented myself. I've also got a fairly detailed idea in my head of what Mousillon looks like in this timeline, which is what I'm building the book/list around. Some might like it, I'm sure some won't, but that's the nature of things Re Beastmen, that was an interesting read, but it wouldn't fit very well with my Mousillon book, since in this version Mallobade has very much become the lord of Mousillon and he'd never tolerate any challenge to his power, so I couldn't see them as allies. The character would be good in a beastmen book though and would be a good excuse for units of human cultists/cheap chaff

A shame we can't post pics, I do have a number of screenshots of my books in development. There is one other guy I met who was working on a Mousillon book, his name's Nyklaus, he's active on the armies project discord, but I think he ran out of steam and time

Mousillon Book is done and will be released in a week or so, after its been proof read (I've got two guys who are going to do that for me tonight).
Then I'll take a break from writing to do some actual model work for a bit, before I come back and finish the Bretonnian book (which is around 75% done or thereabouts)

What's your secret? My Beastman one's about 80-90% done, but it's still taken me at least a year, if not longer, to get it there!

What's your secret? My Beastman one's about 80-90% done, but it's still taken me at least a year, if not longer, to get it there! Well I've had to put most of my other hobbies on hold. In the last year al I've painted are a couple of kill teams and some terrain (I have a whole unpainted tomb kings army sitting on the shelf giving me the evil eye). I started about a year and a half ago and I've gotten two books done (Tomb Kings and Mousillon) and Bretonnia should be done by the end of the year. Unfortunately I'll probably have to stop after that because we're moving overseas and I don't think I'll have time. I had planned to do all the major armies over the next four years or so and create my own 9th ed project. I was planning dwarfs and dark elves next, and maybe beastmen. Oh well, I'm glad I got tks and Mousillon done, those were the two that were most important to me (tks had a rough time in 8th and Mousillon never got the attention it deserved)

Had a flick through, I like how you've developed a different style of book design to the GW books to take account of your own 9th Edition, and how you've included a mini tactics article, which is something GW took out of their 8th Edition books, which was a real shame because it helped inspire new collectors of the army to build the sort of force they wanted. Now this time you must have created the front cover yourself, because I've never seen a PDF of a Mousillon army book before, so I'll repeat the main question I asked of your Tomb Kings book - how did you make the front cover?

Yeah, I used to love the little tactics section. I've thought about putting one in my TK book too, since it plays quite differently to the 8th ed book. Vets obviously don't need them, but I think they're good for young or new players who could use a couple hints when they're starting out. The answer to your question it slowly and with some difficulty 😅. I take pdfs of the 8th ed books, then cut out the logo with paint.net and gimp. Then I cut the letters out from various army books (I'm quite glad for VCs, since they're the only one with a letter U) and arrange them, and fill in the red background. Usually as two layers, which I then merge together Same with the little "warhammer armies" down the bottom, that's just cut out of a pdf with gimp.
