Do you varnish gems? I find it's a good way to get them to stand out (GW 'Ardcoat does the job), though it tends to be seen better in person that on photos.

I will have to wait until the whole thing is varnished or it would get some matte over the top of it

That head is stunning. No pressure for the rest of the model 😉

I had a quick play with contrasts for the first time. Quite impressed with the result, will make speed painting loads easier.

Yes it is just one coat of Orc Flesh over Wraithbone. I would personally have chosen the darker primer but I just borrowed my brothers to have a play with. It feels like you get the basecoat and first wash all-in-one so I guess it saves you a step. I will probably then highlight over the top but I need to ponder my colours slightly since this messes with my go to routine

They look great. The base does look a tad small but not by much.

When was this alleged sunny day of which one speaks I don't remember what one is!
I think the base looks ok. As Knoffles said, a tad small, but by the time it's based, particularly with something fluffy like tall grass, it should blur the edges of the base anyway?

Great work with the photos! This set looks much better!
Where did you get that backdrop? I'm trying to find something similar. Also, is that lighter spot behind them from lighting you set up, or on the paper, or a happy coincidence? Love it.

As Knoffles said, a tad small, but by the time it's based, particularly with something fluffy like tall grass, it should blur the edges of the base anyway? Had a few sunny days up norf this week. Cold though. Great work with the photos! This set looks much better! Where did you get that backdrop? I'm trying to find something similar. Also, is that lighter spot behind them from lighting you set up, or on the paper, or a happy coincidence? Love it. I found some backdrops online somewhere and just printed them out, the light spot is on the paper. Let me have a look and see if I can find them

I downloaded some of them from here and printed them out, they have a few different colours but I prefer the darker ones for more contrast: corvusminiatures.blogspot.com/2010/04/cloud-backdrops-for-your-miniature.htmlThe other one I sometimes use is this blue fade one, I expect there are a few of them online if you google it too

Awesome! Thanks, Horace! I've tried a lot of different things but none of them have had the effect that I wanted. Hopefully, this will do it! Thanks!
