For those who don't know I am a high school engineering and design teacher and I also coach a FIRST Robotics at my school. Beyond building the robot, I also try to do fun things every other weekend with the kids in the spirit of team building. The last event was a floor hockey tournament tourney in the school gym. Today, however, was the first time 8 young men saw tabletop gaming in their lives. I provided 4, 1000 point armies and gave a briefing on what everything did. I went over the basic game mechanics and ran them through a very fun 3 hours. Enjoy the pics. They asked to see and play more. I will certainly look to set up something else after our build season ends in a few weeks.

Of course. They all want to see the rest of my collection and my grand gaming hall once it's done.

I wish there had been Warhammer-playing teachers around when I grew up! Makes me think about the long term future, say 20-30 years, of this hobby, both in general and Warhammer in particular.

With AOS having finally been accepted in certain areas and 9th age grabbing hold of the tournament scene, WFB is going to have an up hill climb to stay alive, I fear. Even though Total War: Warhammer reinvigorated the franchise and has been widely acclaimed as the best Total War ever. Just imagine if WFB was still around...
GW doesn't seem to have any wish to re-launch WFB.

They certainly won't for a while, they have ploughed a lot of ££ into AoS and aren't just going to write it off. I personally don't want anything to do with AoS, if they had put even half the effort they spent on it into WFB I think things would have been very different
