I LOVE the dark blue armor on your White Lions! I tried something similar years ago on my Knights of the While Wolf, but it didn't come out nearly as well as yours did! If you will tell me your technique, I'll probably repaint them!

I myself love dark blueish steel armors as they were known among the pricest and most treasured for a fighting noble in the late middle Age and the Renaissance. It's fitting that the elites of my armies sport these whereas the common soldiery have to make do with dark grey steel ones only. To paint them, i first base with Leadbelcher, then wash with Drakenhof Nightshade. After this I do two layers of mixture between Aldorf Guard Blue, Eshin Grey and Leadbelcher, the 2nd has less Eshin than the 1st (you can easily find the combination that please you most). Then I do a Lamian Medium graze of a mixture between leadbelcher and Aldorf blue to make the patina. The final part is to highlight the edges with a mix of ironbreaker and tiny bit of blue, completed by the very thin Runefang Steel. Pretty simple, eh. Thanks for the comments, guys.

I'm also a fan of the blue steel. I'll probably do something like that myself once I get around to painting my empire.
Keep painting I love your models and your style!

I'll have to give this a try. I pretty much stopped after the Drakenhof Nightshade. I really need to give this Lamian Medium a try. Sounds like great stuff!

mahbruck what colors do you use for the lions? The base is Zandri Dust, then a progressive layering of Ushabti mixed with inscreasing amount of Vallejo Offwhite. The final touch is a light drybrush of Offwhite. The Mane was treated the same, but with a wash of a mixture of 50/50 Sepia/Zandri Dust on the base paint. Hope it serves you well

I always loved the Kislev feather look. It took as much time to paint the pair of wings as the knight and the horse itself

You don't dry brush? Looks awesome and as if you have painted every featherstroke separate by hand!
