I hesitate to use the words "throw together" but would there be an interest in setting up an EEFL event at SIMCON this year? The event takes place at the University of Rochester on Friday 3/1-April 4/2. I participated in their Warhammer tournaments for years but it's been awhile since they've done anything. The current slate of activities looks extremely lame and this could be an opportunity to play out in the open at large venue.
Ideas:
Escalation tournament as discussed previously
Pickup games
Larger game like DaBoyz
Siege Campaign
We would need, I think, 6 confirmations to make anything worth it.

I would be interested. I may have something going on for a while that weekend but am waiting to hear details. Should know more today. Anyway, given the shorter notice I think it would be difficult to get enough people together for the entire weekend. With that in mind I think a one day event has a better chance at good attendance.

However, many of us have multiple painted armies so perhaps borrowing an army would be an option. |

I believe 3/1 is intended to be 3/31 so Friday through Sunday 4/2.

There's nothing to register for yet. Does someone want to take point on getting our group signed up for "open gaming"? I think we shouldn't run a tournament per se but have a few tables available for club members to get pickup battles. I know we have a few campaign battles left to do as well as Joe and I doing the Maissontaal game. This could be a nice venue for that. I'm good for providing 6 battlefields. They just need to provide tables and chairs.

I think it's a great opportunity to get some face time for 8th edition in the community. Just for EEF club mates or anyone interested in playing 8th? Some of my old club mates would probably come out to play.

Person has fully painted army
Person isn't an asshole

Mark me YES for interested. I would NOT be point person, but I would play.
I can't be there the whole weekend, I could do Fri + Sat, OR Sat + Sun. Those details TBA based on others availability and wife's work schedule.
CHECK, I have a fully painted army. IMHO, I am not an asshole... CHECK.
