Avatars of War for the WIN!!! I HAD to have that dwarf lord when I saw it! So much menace in that pose plus...DOUBLE AXES! Perfect for Mordheim, he gets a suit of gromril armor (eventually; it's too expensive to start with and it's REALLY rare so it may take a while to actually find a suit) and a pair of dwarven axes for those sweet parries AND the extra armor save modifier. I need that model now! So much menace in his pose, and you've done a great job on the paint scheme. Those beastmen look excellent too, particularly the dark emissary.

Thanks! there's potential with that model to get VERY detailed with the armor, there's a lot of detail there that I just painted all the same color; I may come back to that model in the future to try and pick out some of that detail. I think I would try and go whiter for the beard as well; right now the beard and the armor blend a little bit too much; but I didn't want to go white as that was the color I was going to paint the cloak. I may come back to the beard as well to try and lighten it up a bit...

hiding excellent dwarfs in a log of chaos and destruction? a ploy so cunning I can't see through it.
the beastmen are great too. How much did you convert on that? looks so unfamiliar.
I think you should have used proper bases because one day you will want to expand these into a few units for your chaos legion. live and learn.

I think you should have used proper bases because one day you will want to expand these into a few units for your chaos legion. live and learn. Well now that you ask... The Chieftan is an Avatars of War model The Bestigors are older GW sculpts (and they're metal!) The Shaman is a finecast Dark Emissary from GW And the Centigor...is a conversion of my own! I cut a Gor in half for the upper body and used a Marauder horse for the legs. Greenstuff and a use of bitz from my bitz box rounded this guy off. I debated LONG and hard about whether or not to use square or round bases for all these models. In the end I decided that I like round bases better when it comes to skirmish games. I may or may not end up regretting my choice, but I tried to make sure I use miniatures I don't use in 8th, or that I have enough of that a few won't be missed. I agree about square bases being proper though; it took all the effort I had to use round ones...

Love them. The centigor conversion is superb. To be a nit-picker (probably a British phrase if so apologies), the two Bestigor are the GW generic Beastlord models. Like the AoW dwarf lord, the Beastlord with two axes is one of my favourites. It’s something about two axe models. I wonder if it’s a throwback to the original slambo chaos warrior model as loved that when I first saw it (probably as it was a meaner version of the Heroquest chaos warriors).

Awesome Beastmen crew and interesting seeing the Avatars of War model next to the Dark Emissary.

@ryryak what were the brown paints used on the Beastmen/hounds? I’m curious about the wash/dry brush (highlight?) combo used. Cheers
