ey all! Just thought that I would start a plog here to showcase my chaos, motivate me to paint, and hopefully inspire others to do the same, as I love looking at pictures of painted minis (am I weird?). Currently I'm working on Beastmen, so that's what we'll start with. Here's some stuff that I currently have: My first painted Beastlord. I painted this guy up a few years ago for a slow-grow campaign that my FLGS was doing at the time. I had planned to participate with my Beastmen but school got in the way and I ended up dropping out within the first few weeks. My Beastlord's shaman pet that he keeps. Again this was painted for the league. A couple of my gor command models. I have around 30 Gors painted, another 30 basecoated with skin tones done, and another 30 or so either assembled/primed Here's an ungor skirmisher, I have 10 of these guys done so far I have 5 razorgors painted; they're orc Boar rider conversions I have 20 chaos hounds that I use for both my Beastmen and my WoC here's an army shot: From left to right: Minotaurs Ungors Gors bestigors Hounds ungor skirmishers Razorgors Hounds Ungor skirmishers Chimera herdstone characters razorgors

If you use the crop function on your phone (I assume everyone uses their phones for this stuff) we could see more of the model in each pic. Looks good so far. I'm hoping to see lots of images here.

I actually uploaded these from imgur. I didn't realize that uploading a "medium thumbnail" wouldn't let you click on it to view the larger image. I'll update the original with the full size photos.

Haha they do! I decided for that escalation league that I needed to fully commit so I created names for my characters. Here goes:
My beastlords name is Galax Shadowmantle; he's been ravaging the lands of Stirland and Averland (Southeast Empire) for years. The empire troops have given him the name Shadowmantle (no one knows/remembers his original surname, if he even had one) because of his tendency to attack at night, and the tendency for his attacks to be preceded by a fierce rainstorm [chalice of dark rain] and his (some say) supernatural ability to blend back into the forests from whence he came from. He's a very cunning general and leader, preferring to wait until he has the numerical/positional advantage (I play mostly gors/ungors/bestigors, I ALWAYS have more drops than my opponent thanks to MSU of ungor raiders/dogs/razorgors and I oftentimes outnumber my opponent) before attacking. No one knows how he manages to maintain such control over his herd (hint: it has something to do with a magical talisman that he's integrated into his helm) to the point that these attacks are even possible, as beastmen are notoriously loud, brash, and eager to get to grips with the hated humans. Their geographical location often pits them against the greenskins, vampire counts, and even skaven from time to time. None of these opponents has yet to prove a match for Galax, and each victory sees more and more Beastmen flocking to his banner. Rumor is spreading that he's even acquired a Cygor to add to his ranks; and some reports speak of a Doombull marching beside his banner. If this is the case no one in Stirland is safe...
No one knows how the shaman Zaozzoc Gloomclaw came to find Galax; one day he just happened to wander into Galox's camp. The sentries had no recollection of his approach/entrance, and were fed to the herds razorgors for their incompetence. One thing is known though; his command of the Brown wind Ghur is second-to-none and his tendencies to disappear for long periods of time, often in the midst of battle (here's what often happens: 5-6 dice tranformation of Khadon->irresistible->roll a 2-4->roll a 1-3. I often joke with my opponents that he hasn't figured out how to control uncontrolled magic yet because I can guarantee you at least once a game he'll irresistible, then roll 2-4 on the miscast; usually he gets sucked into the warp to boot but sometimes he lives and wreaks BLOODY havoc as a mountain Chimera...because they still maintain the model special rules [primal instinct] when transformed I get to reroll my missed to-hit rolls...with a mountain chimera...it's brutal, I've killed like 20 elves ALONE with him in combat before) are overlooked because his magic more often than not turns the tide of a battle or allows for a minor victory to become a major rout. Somehow he always manages to find his way back to the herd, no one knows where he goes when he disappears, and no one is crazy enough to ask him about it.
I really enjoy my beastmen. The goatboys are probably my favorite race of fantasy creatures ever invented.

I love your story.
Yes I love beast men to, great models. I had to choose between beast men or Orcs n Goblins and chose the latter because they can be more hordeish.

One of my dreams is to one day field an all goblin army. Nothing but goblins and the monsters that accompany them. I think it would be awesome. I once remember reading somewhere about a WoC Khorne player facing off against a goblin army in a tournament once and thinking: "There's absolutely no way I can kill that many models". I want my opponents to feel the same way when they see my army. Problem is I've got an enormous backlog of beastmen I've got to get through, I just acquired a medium-sized force of ogres, and soon I'll have an enormous quantity of skaven (one of my friends from like 8 years ago moved to Missouri and doesn't play anymore so he's selling them to me. I'm not exaggerating when I say that he has EVERYTHING the book has to offer, multiples of a lot of things. There's EASILY 8000 points worth of skaven in that box that's coming my way) I don't know if I'll ever have time to start a goblin army

Kevin C. on this forum has a massive all goblin army. It is a sight to see!

Thanks Bureaucrat of Chaos!
I've deliberately kept it simple with my beastmen. There's so many of them that I want to be able to paint them quickly.
I'll have some updates tonight!

Gors are looking good. The Shield on Shadowmantle definitely helps give the mini an extra something something.

Yes, it's the only beastlord model I have that realistically could be given a shield to the model. I like how it turned out.
