I have long moved passed competitive gaming and now play very relaxed when ever I am fortunate enough to play. We use custom additions to several armies and for Beastmen (a personal favourite) they have access to a "Great Eagor" as a 50 point rare choice. (max 1 per 1000 points). This is identical in stats etc to a 'Great Eagle' as seen in Elven books. In a friendly, pickup game against a random person playing Beastmen, how would you feel about facing the elusive "Great Eagor" ? (imagine it on a square base)

Not part of your gaming group? No wouldn’t want it. Play it vanilla against new people. With long term mates go for anything you can imagine and both agree to.

He looks cool though. And if you get extra stuff, I want extra stuff

I'd probably have to agree. Against a random keep it vanilla with existing list options, though I'd definitely be amenable to try out playing a new army book with notice (thinking the Nippon/Cathy etc.).

If you ask me a couple of days before the game I wouldn't mind. Beastmen already have flying redirectors so it's not like you get unintended tools.

Why a max of 1 per 1000 points, why not just say its a rare choice?

Why a max of 1 per 1000 points, why not just say its a rare choice? No real reason, mainly to differentiate it from Elves options and prevent spam. It is a rare choice, you're right in that it probably doesn't need an additional restriction

Just found the statement odd. At 2400 points you'd see two anyway. At 3000 your saying max 3 where as normal limits would be 4.
Our group is pretty much straight out of the book so this would be frowned upon...
