I had no idea the battle magic cards existed, so I've now gotten the basic set plus each of my army's sets (TK, OK, LM and DoK) They are super helpful. You can usually pick up the main 8 cheap. I have picked up extras so I can have things like a Lore Master of Hoeth set ready to go without taking out of my main set. Now I think I have all of them except Skaven, Goblins, and TK. I have some I made myself using MTG card builder for Skaven, Chaos Dwarfs & Goblins. I'll probably stick with those since Skaven go for uber expensive. It's a shame Chaos Dwarfs never got a set.

So, I just cashed in my $220 credit with Frontline Gaming for them not having Cursed City, (I wanted to be sure they or I didn't forget about it!) and I got the Start Collecting Flesh Eater Courts box, an additional box of 20 Crypt Ghouls, the new Lord Kroak and the two new Witch Hunters box. That'll be fun.

What are "core lore cards"? maybe the battle magic cards? Correct.

Sorry for a little bit of a self indulgent post- I graduated uni this week (final results were out tues & friday even though I've not had classes for a while now!) and I settled into a brand new job two weeks ago. So I did some work to tart up my home office (I've been working from home and stuck in a small box since March last year now) and then my misses took me out for a shopping trip today to celebrate and we travelled to an hidden merchants store that held many ancient artefacts and even though I was meant to be on a buying ban till I'd got some more armies mustered, powerful chaos magics called to me and forced me to purchase these forbidden items! I did go a little bit mad, I cleared out all the old stock, but as a proper graduation is cancelled for now and due to lockdowns the class wasn't able to organise a night out, so this was all in place of getting to celebrate with food & drink! So firstly I put up a new bookcase I'd had out in storage for a couple of years now, so I could start organising my book collection. Gives me something to lean against in the multiple meetings I need to listen too and its help me start reading through them again rather than cluttering up every space that was free! Couple of spaces saved as the last Gotrek book was in transit at the time and has now arrived and I ordered the WFRP Middenheim source book, but that won't be here for a couple of months yet. Ordered the current selection of maps from the WFRP guys. I intend to get them professionally framed at a later date, but grabbed some cheap frames to get them up as to protect them from getting tatty from keeping them in storage. Gives me a nice background for my work meetings and I think they are really nice. Hoping they do a nice complete old world one later on! And the for the real big score from todays shopping: This was in the store last time we were there, about three years ago and I regretted not buying every day since then. But somehow it was still there so my misses got me this to paint- its kind of for her as she has a wood elf force but she knows how much I enjoy painting them and how much I prefer this era of elf models, so I'll probably get a bit more free reign on painting schemes for this lot! Probably paid a little bit more than I could have gotten it had I ordered bits here and there from trades or ebay but I just couldn't resist it a 2nd time. The lass that served my misses told her someone else would eye it up every time they came in but never went ahead and brought it and if you're on here- I'm sorry! I put off going back for about three years! Now its not complete- sadly missing one horse and the army book isn't there either. Missing a selection of bases (Not too much of an issue, as I've a ton of MDF ones now as i got sick of trying to get matching plastic ones into Ireland!) but all the metal models are there and complete, there is the two boxes of glade guard which not only are great models but mix with the insane amount of oathmark elves we have! There is the dryads which is listed/shown on the box as having 12 models but is actually 16. The metals I'm most impressed with as my favourite wood elf models are among them and I don't have any surviving wood elfs from all the years back! Sadly most of the boxes are showing their age as I'd like to have used the art work to make some fancy frames, but that isnt' the end of the world (or the end times!) as the models is what I'm after! I needed another couple of boxes of ogres to round out units from buying AoS battleforces and sets and collecting ogres that way. All these models are still purchasable but this had about €20 discount on buying them direct and comes with those beautiful big squares for finishing off my snotling swarms (My goblins are the only 'pure' GW base army I still do!) I already have one of these but I always kicked myself for not having a spare for the statue, as in the Warhammer MMO, which I loved, there was steam tank with this statue on top and I always wanted to make it but didn't want to chop up my standard model for it! This is the closet photo of it I could find, though I think the one I saw was closer to the statue being like the model, but I'd have to log in to the private version of the game to get some nice shots of it, as doesn't seem to be much online! I just need to grab a steam tank now too! The horses and chariot bits won't go to waste either as I'm a couple of horses short for my knights units (which I got at a car boot sale some years back now) and have some other conversions planned for later in the year! And I was able to find a selection of the magic cards, which I don't actually own any of (not even the basic desk!) so grabbed up what they had (they've been there a Looooong time as they were thick with dust hanging on the edge of the shelves! My misses also grabbed me the frostgrave barbarian sets (for bits for my Middenheim force) and a female wiz set, and a couple of bits of plastic terrain- an empire style house and a small chapel from TTworkshop. The chap also threw in a handful of GW promo items he had, quite a lot of character badges and some promo tokens/cards etc and knocked a few quid off to round the price down to the nearest whole number, as they don't have a card machine and only take gold coins! Again, sorry for a self indulgent and long post! But I was pretty chuffed with this haul- all showing signs of being unloved and forgotten to time and I intend to give them a very good home! Its given me the kick to want to get painting again after struggling to relax and get back into it after such a hard few months!
