My bi-weekly group put together a 2000 point triumph and treachery game last weekend. I didn’t get a chance to take notes, as I was also walking some newbies through a game, but I’ve got lots of pictures! Rats and ogres face off on one end of the table while lizards squared up against Napoleorc Bonapwaaaarght and his savage orcs. In the center of the field, units could earn double victory points (a necessity as usually fight happen along the edges in our t&t games)

I had infiltrated some gutter runners into the tower between the two forces, but I underestimated the lizards hatred for skaven and they were not to last long in this world. After attempting to slam the doomwheel into the ogre battle line, the engineer overloaded the warp core trying to discharge his lightning and careened back towards his own forces! As mentioned earlier, the lizardmen spent their entire first turn wiping out nearby vermin and took the tower for themselves.

The skaven continued to have terrible luck, losing their cannon to a misfire and the warlock destroyed himself spectacularly: 1st by rolling a one for the number of hits from his irresistible warp lightning, 2nd by dialing up a calamitous detonation and taking out a mortar with the explosion! The ogre player didn’t seem to mind and lined up his leadbelchers for a withering volley With the ratmen distracted by their own incompetence, the ogres focused on trying to match the savage orcs on the other flank. While the lizardmen also maneuvered themselves into a stronger position, anticipating a brutal struggle with the orcs.

The skaven took initiative again and crammed one of their doomwheels down the ogres gullet a second time, this time lucky enough to kill 3 leadbelchers with the arcing warpstorms. In the center, 3 centerpiece models prepared for a high stakes game of chicken. The savage orcs were unable to restrain themselves and hurtled up the hill defended by the ogre bulls. Sadly, the high ground was not enough to save the bold brutes and they were slaughtered by the wave of various pig faces berserkers. My last picture was taken at the beginning of our last round. The skaven had driven off one unit of leadbelchers and were working on the second unit, while the doomwheel ground down the bulls. Not pictured is the steaming corpse of the stegadon, fried by a full power warp lightning discharge off the doomwheel mk1. In the final turn, the ogres held on to their dignity, though didn’t score many points. Meanwhile the orcs and lizardmen got fully stuck in. The savage orcs were able to double charge the skink cohort horde (cohorde?) and in a very close combat managed to run them down. Ultimately, after accounting for bonus points from the scenario, the orcs came out the victor (they got double points for the cohort) the skaven came second (double points for the stegadon sauté), lizardmen in 3rd (the gutter runners were worth some points) and the ogres in last place (they had actually spent some of their warchest in bribes so ended with less points than they started with). It was probably our best game of triumph and treachery yet and we are already planning a few more!

It was super fun! We’ve played maybe 4 t&t games this year and are still working out some kinks. Often we have people pairing up in their fights with minimal disruption from other players. I’m still trying to figure out how best to encourage people fighting as many opponents as possible.
Any advice on that front?

fantastic writeup... ironically if you switched the lizardmen for Greenskins it would look like the same T&T match I had last week!

All these games of T&T are really making me want a game! This looked great fun. If you ever find yourself in California, let me know! We’ve got more armies than players!
