See the final army list here: THE GRAND ARMY OF BRETONNIAAll comments, suggestions, and playtest results are highly welcomed and encouraged. Regarding ridden monster & combined profiles: I understand some players do not like this, but it is the direction I've chosen for the list. In the final army book I may include rules for separate rider/monster profiles in the appendix section. Thanks!

Thoughts as I read...
-The Crown of Bretonnia. I love the mechanics of this item. Was there any particular fluff/background to correspond to the rule?
--Spiteful Glance. A 1 out of 6 chance to turn Archaon into a Frog? Ribbit! [Tomb Kings, as low low low I monsters, hate this spell]
---Glad to see Bertrand, Gui and Hugo made it in, as always. That seems like a strong upgrade, +1 BS. Overall, fun AND good for the low cost of 85 points.
----GRAIL CHAPEL WAR CHARIOT: This is new. Why 3 crew (as opposed to 2, which seems standard)? Got any pictures of this one yet plzzz?

-It seems like, if one wanted to, one could spam Field Wardens at 20pts/ea for a competitive edge. Solo mounted hero for 20/30 points? For: redirect, chaff, etc.
--If, theoretically, I blasted a unit of Bowmen with Pavises with SEARING DOOM, would I wound on 3+?
---Shouldn't Pegasus Knights have to skirmish?
----Pauper Knights? Seems great for 10 points. WS4 and S4 on a 20mm base? and I could give them Great Weapons? S6 Infantry for 13 points? Yes'm. I don't think these are underpriced, just really good. I also just read George R. R. Martin's "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms", so I all about the Hedge Knights right now.

-PORCUPINE BOLT THROWER 10 shots is great. 1). I would have to assume these DO NOT penetrate ranks. 2). I would also assume these S5 hits have to allow a normal armor save, i.e. -2 modifier. *Might be worth spelling this out, as these 2 rules can be erroneously applied to all Bolt Throwers.
--Virtue of the Impetuous Knight: 3D6 + 8in (or 10in for Pegasi) = 28in charge range?? This is the one thing in the book that I think is too powerful... Average charge of 19.5in is a game changer.

At the army special rule The Lady's Boon one of the conditions for the rule no longer applying is "The Bretonnian army includes more war machines than it does units of Errantry Knights, Knights of the Realm and/or Grail Knights." I think this could use a bit more clarifying text, such as an example. The use of and/or is confusing me a bit. I believe the intent is for the sum of all units of these three types to be compared to the warmachine. So if any army had 1 unit of errantry knights, 2 units of knights of the realm and 1 unit of grail knights they would still have The Lady's Boon if there were 4 or less warmachines. One other note about this. Is this intended to be at the point of army creation only? This could change during the game as units of knights die.

For Morgiana Le Fay, The Fay Enchantress her spell Spiteful Glance needs to be assigned a casting value.
At the rules for Mallobaude the Serpent, Usurper of the Realm at his special rule No Mortal Son the text says "Arkhan the Black, the Usurper’s secret alley,..." I think alley should be ally.
At the rules for Damsel of the Lady under the section Magic the text says "A Prophetess is a Level 1 Wizard who..." Prophetess should be replaced with Damsel.

For the Bowmen Pavise you have them providing the save against all ranged attacks (including spells). I think the part about spells should just be magic missiles. Also, I think shields of this size might make it difficult for the unit to move around. I think they could use a rule to represent this such as they cannot march or charge unless you choose to leave the pavises behind in which case you can march or charge but the pavises cannot be used for rest of the game as the unit leaves them behind.
I think with the pauper knights you could reduce the cost of some of the weapon options. I think 2 points for the GW and 1 point for the two hand weapons would be ok.
At the Battle Pilgrims entry under the Grail Reliquae Palanquin option the text states "Units in base contact with Reliquae may choose to attack it in close combat and if the Reliquae is reduced to zero Wounds it is removed as a casualty." Before the first Reliquae in this sentence you should add the word the. Also I think you should replace the word units with models. As it is written now I think there could be a bit of confusion where someone could argue that from their 10 wide rank a file horde that every model could attack the Reliquae since they are all in the same unit and the unit is touching the Reliquae.
For squires I think 1 point for the light armor would be ok.

For the Sellsword Mercenaries I think the heavy armor could be 1 point, the GW could be 2 points and the crossbow could come down to 3 or 4 points.
For the Virtue of the Impetuous Knight I agree with what Will says above about this maybe being too much. I guess play testing will tell. Maybe it could be 4d6 discarding the lowest 2 or something like this.
On the Virtue of Command I'm thinking this should be 18" like a general who is a large target or mounted on one.
For The Lance of the Perilous Knight I think since this will only apply on the turn the model charged it is over priced.
For the army specific magic items do you have plans for any arcane or enchanted items? I think it would be cool to have at least one or two of each.

dannytee - as always, thanks a lot for spotting all my typos! The equipment for Sellswords is intentionally a bit high, using their equipment options, captain option, and special ability, you can make some really solid units with them. But, they have a price... wilsonthenarc - I'm about 2/3 finished with "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" myself! Awesome stuff. I'm hoping to finish it later this month.

Dreadaxe, you'll have to ask Arkhan the Black, who gave the sword to Mallobaude... The Spiteful Glance spell is Cast on 8+ Pavise, they get the save against all spells. Meaning in a non-magic missile causes a S4 hit, the Bowmen will get a 4+ save. A couple people seem confused about this, but I don't understand why. Please explain if you can...

Please explain if you can... I think it is because other similar items from army books and the main rule book only offer the protection against magic missiles. I personally think magic missiles only makes more sense. Take a direct damage spell for example, you don't even need line of site to target the enemy. Terrain, other units, etc. don't stop or reduce the spells damage or ability. But the way the rule is the bowmen now get a 4+ save so it isn't very intuitive.

Ok I have finally found some time to read this an I have to say I am very happy with this! Empire may have been my first army at the age of 10 but bretonnians have always been my love! This book makes the army competitive and clearly very fun to play. Gives more than enough room to make any single army as unique as the next one! The points seem perfect!
Now with that I have two questions:
1. Do Pegasus knights have skirmish or no? If they don't then hello flanks taking away rank bonuses!!!! 2. Why is the green knight a rare choice? I'm just curious the reasoning behind it. Also if it is a rare choice can I take more than one? Or does the special character rule make it a one per army type of guy? 3. And one more thing the addition of Bertrand, Hugo le Petit, and Gui le Gros Is wonderful! Seeing as I have all three and they are without a doubt going to be showing up!
