Ok I have finally found some time to read this an I have to say I am very happy with this! Empire may have been my first army at the age of 10 but bretonnians have always been my love! This book makes the army competitive and clearly very fun to play. Gives more than enough room to make any single army as unique as the next one! The points seem perfect! Now with that I have two questions: 1. Do Pegasus knights have skirmish or no? If they don't then hello flanks taking away rank bonuses!!!! 2. Why is the green knight a rare choice? I'm just curious the reasoning behind it. Also if it is a rare choice can I take more than one? Or does the special character rule make it a one per army type of guy? 3. And one more thing the addition of Bertrand, Hugo le Petit, and Gui le Gros Is wonderful! Seeing as I have all three and they are without a doubt going to be showing up! -----------Hey Boda, thanks for the compliments! I'm pleased you like it. Regarding your questions: 1. As per the Flying Cavalry special on page 70 of the Warhammer rule book: Yes, they are skirmishers. 2. As per the rule book the Green Knight is a 0-1 choice, he is a special character regardless of where he comes out in the points allowance. I did this for a few reasons. One is that the Green Knight is a really special and weird unit, as since he cannot be the army general or join a unit, he operates less like a typical character and more like an unusual unit choice (i.e. rare unit). Also, I felt he might be more balanced to make the Bretonnia player make a choice between the Green Knight and war machines, Grail Knight, Dread Knights, and mercenaries rather than Lord choices. 3. Bertrand and his 'merry men' have always been a favorite of mine!

Dreadaxe, you'll have to ask Arkhan the Black, who gave the sword to Mallobaude... Source?

Arkhan was the manipulator of Mallobaude, as described in Warhammer: Nagash.
I've invented the story with the magic weapon.

Why, exactly, is it unreasonable to believe that Arkhan could not acquire the Skabscrath??

Kevin. Quick thought, and mostly based on the recent comment in the Brets vs Beastmen thread. What if you made some allusion to Brettonians having trained since birth have learned to get the most out of a charge, staying just this side of in control of their mounts, in order to make the impact hits less about the fighting ability of the men. Either that or their horses being even stronger/more stout than others. The rule is good, but the reasoning seems to be what chafes. Just my $.02

After all, Ogres get impact hits but are in no way highly trained.

I would also have one small request Kevin - could you please release the draft III in editable format? (like docx or something). In my group we are testing your book quite extensively but because we also made some alterations to main rulebook and books of other factions, i need to make some changes in your book to balance things out.
I would be extremly greatfull as your book is basically the most "bretonnian" of all attempts made by other fans to make 8 ed brets. Thanks in advance.

I tried downloading the PDF. It failed. I can download the GW AOS pdfs...those do load.
I was very curious to see what had been done for the Bretonnians.
Do I need more stars before I can download something from the forum?

Do I need more stars before I can download something from the forum? As far as I know there is no star requirement for downloading files from this forum. It seems a number of people have had problems downloading various pdf's. I have never had an issue. I use a desktop however. If you were using a mobile device maybe try again from a desktop/laptop if you have access. Just a thought.

The best I can do to describe this problem in a technical way is as follows: www.games-workshop.com/resources/PDF/AoS_Compendiums/warhammer-aos-bretonnia-en.pdfThis ^ I can load and view. This ^ is a link to a PDF. eefl.freeforums.net/attachment/download/132That ^ I cannot load or view. That ^ is NOT a link to a PDF. Apparently, both browsers I have are extremely hard-nosed. A link to a PDF starts with "http" and ends with "PDF". No exceptions. That is as far as my inner Luddite can take me. (If I get a laptop functioning again I will try it.)
