Once more I beseech the wisdom of the longbeards of Warhammer Fantasy with another humble question. A member of my local Flames of War/Team Yankee group is selling some old stuff to buy the new models for that game, and one of the items they have is Warhammer: Mighty Empires, and I was wondering if it was any fun or worth picking up for $50?

If you are thinking about ever running a map campaign, then yes.

Which version is it? I have the original with card hexagon tiles and you can make a massive map from them and the army banners and cities are great plastic pieces. The re-release came with more solid hexagon tiles (plastic?) but I don’t think you got as many. Either way, it seems like a good price for the game. As Midnight said, it all boils down to if you think you’ll use it (or if you fancy owning it).

I know it is the re release, it looks like it could be fun. I got into Warhammer through Total War, and I have read that Mighty Empires is kinda similar?

IIRC, the newer plastic one doesn't come with the rules for the actual/original Mighty Empires game, but I believe GW released them as a PDF shortly after release.
