So for the new year, I've been thinking about what army I want to acquire next. As ever it normally has to be completely opposite to the one i'm currently using. It will likely be Lizards as I've picked up a few things here and there and both the variety of colours you can paint the army, together with the plethora of monsters is definitely selling it for me. The fact they are still supported and you can still buy get starting kits, also helps. I'm trying to do something a bit different from the 2 block saurus and slann.
So with that said, here is my first attempt at a list.
Lords/Heroes - 1015pts
Saurus Oldblood (General) - Sacred Stegadon Helm of Itza, Talisman of Preservation, GW, Carnosaur - 451pts
Saurus Scar-Vet (BSB) - Amour of Destiny, GW, Carnosaur - 379pts
Tetto'eko - 185pts
Core - 629pts
Skink Cohort - FC, 37 Skinks, Javelin, shield, poisoned attacks, 4 Kroxigor - 489pts
Skink Skirmishers (10) - Javelin, shield, poisoned attacks - 70pts
Skink Skirmishers (10) - Javelin, shield, poisoned attacks - 70pts
Special - 390pts
Rippersactyls (3) - 120pts
Rippersactyls (3) - 120pts
Bastiladon - Solar Engine - 150pts
Rare - 460pts
Ancient Stegadon - 230pts
Ancient Stegadon - 230pts
My thoughts were to put as large of a number of gribblies as possible (Carnosaurs, Stegs etc. The Skink cohort with Krox I took rather than Saurus because I rarely see it and I like the fluff of the big guys protecting their smaller spawn mates.
There's no slann in order to fit in 2 Carnosaurs but I thought Tetto'eko and the Solar Engine would give a decent magic phase.
The Skink skirmishers are to give some chaff (and fill out core) whilst the ripperdactyls are again something that ticks all the fluff boxes, frenzied flying dinosaurs, what's not to love!! (I thought they might also be reasonably useful and able to benefit from the increased LD bubble of the general and bsb).
I would have loved to have fit the engine of the gods on one of the Steg's but not sure what I would cut to allow that.
Has anyone else used monster mash lists?
And because I've had it stuck in my head:
