As a pretty “new” player (I’ve only played during 8th), I’m glad this works, as 46 euro’s and Some eBay bases beat paying 30 euro and more (without posting) per model, and not even a pretty one 😅. Meet my Treekin: Edit: I changed the title of this topic, as I’ve desided to post my Wood Elves progress here.

They definitely work! 😂👌
If I would do my 9 models again I would go with some of the new models too.

I actually really like them. The swords may be a little to much but visually they match well with the new Treeman and Dryads.
I even think that they initially were designed as potential new Treekin

I'm glad these look good on squares.
Im interested in making a wooded wood elf army.
12 of these guys 2-3 treemen 50 odd dryads Branchwraiths
And a box of tree revenants, to use as elf heroes, that look like trees, hehe.

WIP Despite being a beautifull model, it’s a nightmare to paint 😅

How attached are you to your white undercoats? They're good for getting vibrant colours, but you have to be really careful to make sure you don't leave any patches showing. Black is much more forgiving in that you can leave some black in the recesses, and it looks good. I think a lot of GW's painting these days is done with grey to get a balance of the two, though I haven't really tried it myself.
Regardless, it's early days for the model - once you slap a wash on it, it'll suddenly look a lot better.

I started my Glade Guard with white undercoat so I was planning on doing all the Elves with white. But I’m not to fond of it to be honest so for the Forest Spirits (the Wood part from the Wood Elves) I was gonna go Black. I like it so much more to be fair. Current state of the spellweaver; As usual, appoligies for the lack of a decent quality picture. Basicly the base layers are done, albeit Some parts still need Some cleaning. The hair and face have been shaded and highlighted and the emerald is finished. Bronze still needs highlighting tho, as well as giving the eyes a green glow (but Thats for last).

Again, bad light but i’m really happy with the (almost) final result! You should see it with decent light 😅

Next are Some Glade Guard. Already started them a while ago but then suddenly wanted to do Dark Elves 😁
The LGS had Elysian Green again in their supply, so the caster also has Some additional highlights

Nice work with the treeman.
The new model is excellent with all its building options and I really like the strangleroot look that you have gone for.
