Hi guys,
I’m comfortable building HE lists, but I thought I’d share one with you guys. I’m gonna try and explain everything this list tries to achieve, and for what reason I took all the units as I did. Nevertheless, as always I’m open for c&c.

Playing this list starts with the battlefield. When playing according to the BRB, use your drops in your advantage. Try to keep a flank open if possible. Before your actual deployment starts, figure out what flank you want the Silver Helm bus to go.
If the choice is given, take the opportunity to start deploying before your opponent. This list has a small amount of drops to make, so you actively try to increase the likelyhood you'll finish deploying first and get the +1. And by going first you can try to force your opponent in a responsive roll. This can be used in your advantage.
Knowing that we will give up one flank completely and will be relying on Phoenix Guard to protect our center on that flank, it can actually be a good move to drop the PG first and let your opponent start figuring our how he will respond to PG. I'm not saying the answer will be dropped immediately, but most player I know sort of plan ahead (and stick to there initial thought). We want this, we want our opponent to place the stronger part of his forces on the PG flank.
The Lions will be our center unit. As for the firepower; don't group your bolt throwers together. Put enough space between them (more then 12 inch) so that you'll never see 2 wiped in the same turn by the same unit by actively preventing a succesfull overrun. Try to actively support your Silver Helm flank as much as possible with shooting. Reavers go on the same flank as the Silver Helms, to get rid of annoying fastcav preventing those sweet flanks to be smashed. The acher unit has a champion, to accept or issue challenges if neccecairy (and I had points left). The level 1 sits here. Basicly a scroll caddy with the best signature spell.
Kitting on the prince seems quite standard to get him to a 1+/4++ (3++ after 1 successfull High magic cast). Ogre Blade for maintaining punch in the unlikely event that we don't brake the enemy unit after 1 combat round. BSB with the most fair and balanced banner in the game, because that seems fun right ? High Magic caster with another fair and fun item, because Magic is fun fun fun (if your an High Elf player). Given the full command of the unit, the caster can safely sit on the second rank so no additional protection seems needed. Now, on a serious note, High Magic is gold in a list like this. "Walk Between Worlds", I rest my case.
If you made it this far, I congragulate you! I'm not claming this is the best list you could make with HE (it's not), but it has a specific tactic and behind every unit and choice is a specific goal and role to play. I hope I did a good job in getting a grab on how I made this list and how I thought about things.
again, c&c welcome
