Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the first ever compilation of official Chaos Dwarf miniature developments through the ages! This overview of Games Workshop and Forgeworld's various iterations of Chaos Dwarfs will take you from the very beginnings up to the present day (April 2019), and showcase the evolution of the weird and wondrous concepts embedded in Chaos Dwarfs. This thread deals with Chaos Dwarf concepts in official miniatures. For compilation attempts at community homebrew work on Chaos Dwarfs, see Carven Images (CDO 2007-2017) and the Chaos Dwarf Culture Project. Enjoy!

Cheers, folks! Typos cleared out and much more importantly, Mini-Me Marauder Chaos Dwarfs (with comparisons to their Human Chaos Warrior counterparts) have been added into 1980s - 3rd Edition. Check it out! Zygmund over on Warhammer Empire had this observation to share on Chaos Dwarfs as a concept:

Great stuff
I love the third edition CD. The painted examples from nico don't hurt.
I kinda despise the FW range but those warmachines are pretty solid.

Big hats are pretty terrible if you focus on individual models but the complete army looks decent to me.
They are very static looking.
I like the basic design of the FW line but I think it fails in execution. I have a similar issue with a lot of their fantasy stuff.
Weird poses and overly detailed at least for me.

Very cool. I still remember the tenderiser and juggernought from some of my first games of 3rd.

Thanks a lot, folks! Great stuff I love the third edition CD. The painted examples from nico don't hurt. I kinda despise the FW range but those warmachines are pretty solid. Then how about getting some FW warmachines and man them with 80s-style Chaos Dwarfs? I'd love to see that. Fuggit Khan put 90s big hat models on FW warmachines. Aside from 3rd ed originals, we've got a good number of new ranges with 80s-style CDs, including some sculpted by John Pickford. Check this company list. Oldhammer style is well represented. Cheers!

I'd probably have to.
Third edition chaos dwarf warmachines are basically unobtanium at this point (at least the butt cannon and juggernaut).

roughtimes There are 3rd party producers of both asscannons and Juggernauts IIRC. In a rush at the moment, but check this list of Chaos Dwarf producers. There are at least 2 different asscannons around, one of which (by Andrew Taylor) is very close in style to the original unreleased model. The Juggernaut by Macrocosm might be on the big side, though. But FW warmachines crewed by 80s Chaos Dwarfs would look sweet, I bet!

Thank you for the link I was very close to buying one of the cannons from Andrew a few years ago. He only had two left at the time. I wonder if he has casted any more. I think I held off bc I was still holding on to the hope I'd find an original. This was when the cost of oldhammer stuff went through the roof.

I'd ask him if I was in your shoes. I got one, and it's a nice model. Andy works with casting, and can probably cast up some new ones if hobbyists keep demanding them. Best of luck!
