I love my bighats. With the Tomb Kings range being whittled away I wasn't optimistic for a release which would make me think 'Ah yes now there's a Warhammer figure i like' I like it! Shames it's limited but any Chaos Dwarf release is great and any Chaos Dwarf with a nice hat is even better!

Really great model. Luckily my brother visits GW HQ a couple of times per year so I can probably get him eventually for that CD army I will build some day. He's sure to turn up on Ebay too, but I bet he'll be expensive.
I might be able to help you out if you have trouble getting one and it's insanely expensive on Ebay.

Looks awesome, more old school-looking than their previous range, which is much better

he fits in with the 4th edition 'big hats'. I think the other stuff available from FW is supposed to be an army from this one slaving outpost and hence their headwear is different.
He would look great with the ' Alternative' knock-offs. But yes, will be pretty pricey on ebay.
I don't quite understand why they would bring out stuff that doesn't fit into AoS. Is this something they had finished but never released and now they just decided to go for it? Puzzling.

I don't know if they already had him sculpted for the event long in advance and still decided to release it, or if they had to have something Fantasy-related (no idea if they alternate between 40k and Fantasy? I remember a few years ago they did a Warrior Priest I believe). But it's a weird release indeed. Or maybe they plan to kinda reboot the Chaos Dwarf in AoS and this is a glimpse into what we'll get. A few Skirmishing models might suit Forge better than trying to make a full army or rankable dude that you need 20-40 of each. But then you have the scrapped K'daii that got turned into a Khorne daemon. Maybe it's just Forgeworld farewell to Fantasy and now they'll go back to make more tank turret and marines shoulder pad!

I don't think it's that different from their current range. It's certainly a unique model but it wouldn't look out of place. It has a few design cues from the overrated big hat period but this time they are well made.
GW went all in with the AoS release, as is evident from the Sigmarine statue replacing the Space Marine outside of their HQ. It is hardly unreasonable for FW to also do a few Fantasy releases to test the waters. I hope they sell well as I'd love to see more. I love almost everything they've done for Fantasy in the past.

Feels like a test sculpt or leftover or something. I would be a little surprised if FW got back into fantasy/AOS. They discontinued the fantasy line due to poor sales and AOS doesn't seem to be doing as well as WFB was. the fantasy stuff from FW has been pretty hit or miss for me. Some of the skaven were excellent but there were a lot of models that just didn't work imho. Something a little bit off and many were difficult to paint well.
