Managed to finish 2 bolt throwers taking the DE army up to 2500 points just in time, I've got to go into work for the first time since March tomorrow! Going to paint my Kharybdis next but it might take a while due to less free time and never having painted a big monster before.

Dark Elves are getting some major love this summer! I love your Druchii painting scheme - dark but still crisply done.

I took "Dark" Elves to mean slathering them in so much nuln oil I've gone through half a pot in 6 months! In person the colours are a bit more vibrant than in the pics, I don't have a good photo set up at the moment.

I finally finished my Kharybdis, it didn't go to plan at all! I did learn lessons about painting big monsters though such as "do a test section to see if you like the colour scheme instead of doing the base colours for the whole thing and then deciding I didn't like it" and "don't drop it on the floor and ruin the filled in with green stuff seams where it had been glued together". If I was starting again I would definitely do some sort of pattern on the scales, it looks a bit boring and was a bit boring to paint. I do intend to buy this kit again and make a hydra, hopefully I can do it justice on the second attempt. Now I just have to wait for Horace to stop messing about and make time for a game so all these Dark Elves can make their on-table debuts! Next up I'll probably do some contrast painted marauders so they're ready for when we play the Tamurkhan campaign and I've also got my version of Tullaris Dreadbringer I made from one of the Idoneth Deepkin models primed.

Wow, so much DE goodness (badness?) in this one, great stuff!
Loving the Kharibdyss, even without a scales pattern it looks impressive.

Looks good. I'm no scale expert but I think you either just need a stronger edge highlight to break it up a bit or a slightly different colour running down the central section (or both). Perhaps any lizardmen players on here can give you some scale knowledge

Congratulations on painting your first Monster!!! If you get the second kit and build the hydra you'll have enough great monster head/tail bits to put together some other crazy creature from the left over parts. It really is a lovely kit. I like the dark blue you used.

After a bit of a break I've rebased my chaos marauders that I painted over 20 years ago and added a little banner to the standard bearer. Then last night I speed painted the remaining 14 plastic marauders I had in about 3 hours, they probably look better than the Kharybdis I spent 6 weeks messing around with, I'm not sure whether that's a good or bad thing!

nice unit! The banner looks great.
The good old days, when pants were optional. Can't decide if I miss them.
