Testing again! Very tricky deployment in the Meeting engagement scenario. Still not sure how to deploy this. We have successfully rolled 0 forests in 3 games.

So this game was a pretty onside in the wood elves favor with some extreme magic phases two first turns. Then the glade ride entered and swept the rest. It included first turn sniping bsb, fiery conc draw out dispel scroll, big stomp that scattered and then rolled a one to hit his own units(savages), fiery conc decimating black orc and then an other big stomp scattering and rolling a one killing his squig herd that went poof in shooting. He tried to hold a strong position but i still managed to sneak through with all the fast cav. So again the list felt really strong, not sure how many games i will bring it it is not as fun with little combat. After turn 2 After turn 4

Yes still hate dryads and treekins. :/ I tried a unit of 8 treekins + 2 treeman They can perform decently if supported by magic. but they never convinced me 100%.

4 treekin are really not worth mate. no way... Depends on role in list, here they are flank protectors against skinks. But should have been placed in a square as rank bonus was not needed in that role. I rolled 3 1s and 3 2s in this dawn attack scenario, EVERYTHING was in the wrong position. Only thing that outperformed was war dancers. Main problem with dryads and treekins. They absolutely need magic support to preform ok. But I think I rather boost a good unit to great then a bad to ok when doing magic. Like wild riders become pretty decent at s6 too when facing t4 opponents.

But even as flank protectors I am not sold . They simply miss something...which only the encreasing number of a unit seems to balance somehow.

It seems to me that dropping all the tree units strength by 1 when going from 7th to 8th edition really did them a disservice. Since getting back into gaming I've really wanted to field an all tree army, but I'm fairly certain it would not perform well, at least against most armies and builds. Oh, well, I'm still going to try it, because I love the idea and imagery!

Not sure about tree kin. Loosing 20p like 31% of their cost for 1s sounds like a great deal, just can’t find them useful. I know I have run dual treeman and 8 treekins pretty successfully but it might have been more of a fluke.

I like it. Two units of 15 is what I also wanted to run. I think they’d fit in with the msu style of the army very well.
