Hey guys, since I've painted some Daemons in the past week I'll share with you my small army of (mostly) OOP Khorne Daemons. Daemons Prince, using the old Bloodthirster. I modelled the head above the shoulder to make him look taller, otherwise pretty much as-is; Herald on foot. That's the Skulltaker minus the cloak, the only "modern" model in the army (got it in a deal of Bloodletters so decided to use him); Herald on Juggernaut. Recycling Arbaal mount here, I think a large Flesh Hound is fitting for the Herald ; Bloodletters. This should be my main unit (28 models); Flesh Hounds (will be using in unit of 6); Bloodcrushers. I have an extra rider, I magnetized him so I can swap with the standard if needed; Scratch built Skull Cannon. The regular model is ugly and don't fit the style of the OOP models, so I made a custom, blocky chariot that I think is more in-line with the rest of the army Other models I have but aren't pictured yet (they're not cleaned-up/assembled yet); A metal Bloodthirster (the previous one before the plastic kit). Should fit the OOP style of the army. Another Thirster-Prince. Not sure how useful another Prince can be, but a free model is a free model Chaos Furies. I have about 8 of them, but will only make a unit of 6. Bloodletters. I have a second unit of them. Currently about 15 models, will need at least 3 more to complete. Flesh Hounds. Another 5 to get so that will be 2 unit of 6 total at the end. I think that's all for my Daemons. If memory serve, that should be between 2000-2500pts, which is big enough for a "small" side project

Looking good as usual. A few comments: I LOVE the old metals. The skin tone looks great but I would prefer 2 different tones for the bloodletters and hounds. It looks a little weird to me that the guy riding the beast has the same skin tone, I'd like to see more contrast there. Also, as a Khorne guy, I would suggest taking your units in multiples of 8...for maximum fluff. Keep posting and I can't wait to see the cannon painted.

At second glance there's something about the swords. Maybe go darker (towards blackened steel) or brighter silver. This army needs more contrast, the metals are washing out with that great skin tone.

Wow awesome. Love all the models. Skulltaker is awesome without his cloak! His body is weird like the original 3rd edition Bloodletters. Love all the 4/5th ed. models too.
Great work!

Great stuff.
Skulltaker looks completely different sans cloak.
I like your custom Skull Kannon over the original quite a bit.
Looking forward to seeing the oop bloodthirster fully painted.
That would be overall quite a heavy set of figurines!

Thanks guys! Looking good as usual. A few comments: I LOVE the old metals. The skin tone looks great but I would prefer 2 different tones for the bloodletters and hounds. Also, as a Khorne guy, I would suggest taking your units in multiples of 8...for maximum fluff. Keep posting and I can't wait to see the cannon painted. That's something I might try later. The Herald is the only one rider a Flesh Hound so the regular Flesh Hound don't have that problem. For the Furies I wanted to go with a darker red skintone, so if that turn out good I could port that over other model if needed. Same for the Juggernaut, I was thinking of making them black and bronze to contrast with the rider. Going by multiple of 8 would be nice and fluffy, but I don't think I will run units of 8 Flesh Hounds or 8 Furies For infantry, there's always a possibility to play around with the numbers, so that could happen from time to time At second glance there's something about the swords. Maybe go darker (towards blackened steel) or brighter silver. This army needs more contrast, the metals are washing out with that great skin tone. Don't disagree here. But the plan with the Daemons is to keep the painting as simple as I can to have more mini painted (still not simple enough to my taste ). I don't think I have extra models to test it on, but that's something I'll keep in mind

Not always, and I'd like to say not fast enough What I painted for this post took about a week, maybe a bit more. That's about 14-15 Bloodletters, both Herald, and started the Hounds (finished 1 out of 5, the other 4 are primed with the base skin color done). Right now I struggle to get back to the Hounds though, so after I do them I will put the Daemons away again and do something else

Good stuff! I like the skin tone a lot. Also, the custom cannon build looks very cool.
