alright, I thought long and hard trying to find something special for the painting competition...and failed. So, I'll be doing a plain old mortar (nothing strikes fear into the heart of the enemy like one of these babies...the fear of laughing to death when the giant template fails to do anything meaningful). I figure we need some ordinary war machines so the extraordinary stuff some of you guys are doing can stand out properly. I've spent most of tonight piecing together my entry. Not much is glued on so far so I can rearrange at some point and I may also add some more bits and bobs. Anyway, enough waffling, here it is:

some progress. ready for priming now. and I've started on the wood part. Playing a little bit with a wood grain. Looks rough at the moment, hopefully a good splash of devlan mud can make it awesome. ...and if not, there is always more Devlan Mud.

some progress to show. I think the carriage and the monkey are almost there. But, I am still in the thick of it and given my glacial painting speed, it'll be a challenge to get it done by the end of the month. Onward Sigmar's soldiers!

I made it! and with a day to spare but, quite a push tonight. Overall I am happy how this came together. so without further waffling, here she is with her trusty crew, the mortar affectionately known as 'The Big Belcher'.

Thanks!
Pretty sure the monkey is from the handgunners kit.

I like the yellow and light blue color scheme. It is something unique and looks good.
