I'm just curious on other people's opinion on one question. That question is this, how do people feel about full armies of guys none of which are gw models? For example kings of war have recently come out with the "army of dust". I love the look of these guys and makes me want to play them as tomb kings. I know people use other models here and there but full armies? Is that unheard of?

I wouldn't have a problem with it. Check with your fellow players

Using an army of non-GW models to play Warhammer Fantasy...would be awesome. The Mantic TK models look OK.

Check your local game groups. Most players won't have a problem with it, but there are a few GW Elitists...
Fortunately most of them have moved on to AoS and left WFB 8th.

To be honest, we proxy a lot so the whole line of sight thingy is taken with a pound of salt I want to play with all types of monsters without buying them all. If they are cool and used a lot, I could be pursuaded to buy it.

Back in the early '90s I was pretty hardcore regarding citadel/marauder/GW figs only. But nowadays, I think there are very few people who still play that way. I find most players like to see different model ranges on the tabletop, myself included!

I am all for it. Especially with Mantic's newer sculpts. Make an army from what you like.

I have no problem with it so long as i know what everything is.
The more nice painted minis on the table the better

I have no problem with it so long as i know what everything is. The more nice painted minis on the table the better Ditto. To me it would just be important that the minis would reasonably represent the unit that you are using them as. But if they are actually GW or not does not bother me at all.

Having played WFB and 40K since 4th edition and Rogue Trader days using alternative models has never been a big deal. First we have never had a GW store nearby so no worries about miniature police, second where we played they sold other companies models and third GW models were the best anyway so most people had Citadel miniatures anyway. When 40K first came out there were suggestions in White Dwarf on how to make your own custom vehicles from various things. I use Reaper miniatures for Dragons , I use some AoW models and Heresy miniatures too.For the most part GW does have the best models imo but there are some great alternative models that are great too. The miniature makers Alternative have some great Chaos Dwarf models I bought a small armies worth to use. Basically as long as what you are using looks like what the army is supposed to look like then I think its fine.

The use of GW models should be irrelevant in the post-apocalyptic world we game/live in today. GW abandoned us and our hobby. I feel ZERO allegiance to their products today. If their model looks better for a particular unit and can be obtained from the secondary market, I'll grab it. Otherwise I'll be looking for ways to produce armies using whatever the best models are. I also consider cost which is why I have so many Bones figures in my collection.

Personally I stick to gw models (generally of the metal oop variety) but I have no problem whatsoever with others using 3rd party models
