I also thought the champion/lord model in the forge world set to be very underwhelming. If that model were different I'd be tempted to get the set as by GW prices, £35 for 3 character models is good value. Lol never thought I'd say that... shows how I'm being conditioned by them or more to the point how pricey their new models are. I really like the fireslayer grimwrath berserker model and would happily use it as a daemon slayer but it's fecking £18 for a single infantry model. Ridiculous price.

Geez! Well, when you put it that way, I suppose Forge World pricing isn't THAT ridiculous! I may have to take another look....

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered the ForgeWorld Dwarf character set! Hopefully I'll like this banner much, much more! (The Slayer looks super-cool too!)

Those forgeworld chars look sweet. I got my first FW unit off eBay a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited about it! I've never liked the regular GW BSB. I think it's his face, mostly. He's so fat! His helmet looks like something a dinky rank-n-file solider would wear, you can barely see his weapon, and the banner is simply unimpressive (That's BAD for a BSB!). (His extended arm would have been so much better if he had been flipping a middle finger!) Now admittedly, I didn't do a great job painting the guy up, but my heart just wasn't in it! I've always hated using that model, but BSB's are pretty much essential! This new one will give me MUCH relief!

I still can't love the Lord character. It makes me think of Danny Devito in twins. All the goodness went into the slayer/bsb (e.g. Arnie) and all the leftover shit went into the other one 😀

Lol, boy THAT's a blast from the past! TWINS! Wow, you MUST be old! (Me too.)
I actually don't mind the Lord. He's my least favorite of the group, but he doesn't bother me. I've actually seen a version of him on the web were he was wearing a horned helmet. That looked pretty good. I don't know if that'll be an option he comes with (I hope so) but if not, I'm thinking I might dig through my bitz box unit I find a helm that works for him. Maybe one with a broken horn on one side so that he can look like Bruenor Battlehammer, my favorite Dwarf character outside the Hobbit book (from the Legend of Drizzt series).

I don't mind that metal bsb model and think the banner is impressive. I know exactly what you mean about not having the motivation. I don't like the metal tomb herald bsb model and as a result have never been able to finish painting it despite trying 4 times. ....I remember twins with Arnie and Devito. Regarding converting the FW champion to Bruenor Battlehammer, you'd need to convert/change the axe as doesn't Bruenor have a one axe bladed axe? Regarding Bruenor Battlehammer I have to ask, have you read the first book the the Neverwinter series Gauntlgrim? (Spelling is probably wrong)

Lol, this one? That's a good idea about the axe. It is a one-sided, many-notched axe! Looks like I'll be painting his beard red! I haven't read that series, though, I have heard about them. I'm currently working my way though The Thousand Orcs for the Legend of Drizzt storyline.

Certainly do the single blade many notched axe regarding Bruenor. The thousand Orcs trilogy is pretty cool. I like Obould and his dealings with the frost giants if I remember. Gauntlgrim is set in the future but to a Bruenor Battlehammer fan I'd say it is a must have for sure! I actually got a bit emotional at the end!

Sweet! I'll have to check it out!
Funny, I've always kinda thought of Wulfgar as Sigmar. Huge, golden haired man with a magical hammer gifted to him by a Dwarf king (though he wasn't at the time). These books have also been my motivation for painting my Dark Elves with dark grey skin.

These books have also been my motivation for painting my Dark Elves with dark grey skin. Yeah, I can see the similarities between Wulfgar and Sigmar absolutely. I overall probably prefer the Drow to the Druchii and find them more interesting.... I'm sure R.A Salvatore's writing has a lot to do with that. Nice idea with the skin, it's a sinister look.

Thanks! I can't take credit for it, because it came straight from Salvatore. I love that Reaper Bones 4 is going to have a lot of Drow looking things in the (something) expansion. As soon as I saw that expansion, I knew I needed it for my Drow Army! Lots of Spider Queen goodness!
