I've never played a siege game. Looks like fun!

The Siege pictures look great. But what rules do you use? I remember not being very impressed with the 5th edition Siege rules and I don't think they have been updated since then. I recall the lack of static combat resolution made combat characters (think Chaos Lord of Khorne) all but unstoppable. They could single handedly clean the entire enemy army off the battlements. We used the Blood in the Badlands siege rules, but got them slightly wrong - we allowed multiple units to occupy a section of the fortress, and for multiple units to assault a section. You're right that there's no static combat resolution (only +1 for each connected fortress section controlled by the defenders) - so for example the Witch Elves slaughtered a load of Zombies and the rest inevitably crumbled straight away. When you're up against things like that Khorne Lord or a Blender Vampire, it's about using challenges to slow your opponent down, killing off what you can from the unit, and then ultimately accepting that you can't hold every part of the castle. Oh, and using your turn to pour as much firepower onto the most threatening units as possible. Part of the Undead struggles this game was that they had almost no ranged threat, so their turns were primarily magic phases (which went badly for them).

I had forgotten Blood in the Badlands includes Siege rules. Just skimmed through them. They seem better than the 5th edition Siege rules. But still prone to unbalanced games depending on the combatants. Not having artillery or missile weapons really hurts in sieges. Both as attacker and defender. Though fewer armies are completely devoid of artillery these days compared to 5th edition (I'm looking at you Chaos Hellcannon and Skull Cannon or Khorne).

Inspiring paint job with the Merwyrm.
It's basically the Eavy Metal scheme.
It really pops.
Is that a 100 x 60 mm base?
I currently have mine unpainted on a round (that it came with) but seeing how good yours looks on a Fantasy base......

Awesome model and paint job, not sure I've ever seen it before, must have disappeared from forgeworld before I ever looked there.

I finished another couple of ponds last month. The water effects didn't set quite right in some places, which is why there's an abundance of covering-up vegetation growing within the actual lakes themselves: Also some random resin scenic bits picked up from Salute a few years back:

Awesome ponds. That's what I'm missing in my collection.

Great work on the ponds and the merwyrm. For some reason, the latter made me think, "Killer Koi"...
