Batch painting is a tough thing to endure. I hate doing it and by the time I’m done with a unit I feel like it’s always a bad paint job for me. You did good with all of these units. Any lords/heroes coming soon?

Thank you. Next up chariots and cavalry..
I’m actually batch painting the whole army unit by unit. While I do enjoy collecting and painting an army organically, and will eventually do this with daemons, this is currently a 2500pt army project to prepare for tournament season.

Thank you! I’ve never played Total War but I saw a trailer on Khorne and it gave me inspiration for the hellblades..

Loving these bloodletter hordes and the purple is a nice touch on the hounds.

I'm not normally a Khorne fan, but those Bloodletters do look extremely cool. If I ever painted a unit of them, I'd want them to come out like that.

Many thanks for the kind words everyone, much appreciated. I’ve been busy doing the next unit - skull cannons of Khorne I’ve seen some folks say on here they don’t like these models because they look too steam punk, which I totally understand - after all they don’t look out of place on a 40k tabletop. However, I’ve decided to embrace this glorious hunk of demonic Harley Davidson. I just love the maniacal madness of it, particularly how you can see the semi digested mortals moving through its belly and the skulls moving up into the cannon. On the second one I decided to leave off the rear armour plate so you can better see the back wheel and pistons. This is actually the first big plastic kit I’ve assembled for Warhammer. It was a feat that I enjoyed from start to finish. There is just so much detail there that I am really glad I painted both at the same time because had I just done one I’m not sure I’d want to do a second one now! I actually have a third(!), which I plan to use as a herald on skull throne but I just can’t seem to fit it into a decent list so it will have to wait until after I get to 2500 pts. Next up Juggers.

The feet of Khorne. Many hours went into this one, which I will probably run as two separate units. I’m starting to really enjoy the batch painting method. My first army I collected organically, whereas this one was mostly planned out in advance. So I painted all the bloodletters at once, all the hounds, all the furies etc. The base coating stage can be a bit tedious but the shading and highlighting is a lot of fun and it’s nice knowing that whole unit type is done and you won’t have to come back to those models again. For the longest time I never really liked Juggernauts; I found the models square and clunky. Now I really like them, particularly with bloodletter riders as I find their poses more dynamic than their Chaos warrior counterparts. They really look like they’re moving and you can imagine the sound of them charging across the battlefield. This brings me to 2000pts so it’s time to start getting some practice games in. One model left to paint…

Excellent job. I like the details on the swords. There's a proper amount of grit and grime all over. I'll be painting a unit of these later this year. This is good motivation. The mounts certainly seem large, as bloodletters are not small infantry.

Yea the swords are such a prominent part of the bloodletter models that I think it’s worth spending a bit of time on them. Will you stick to the red colour scheme? I think the Juggers look good in black too but my Letters are quite dark so I wanted brighter coloured Juggers.
