just stumbled upon this: I heard the rumors about that this coming out and then getting cancelled a few years back, something with Empire/Dwarfs/Greenskins scenarios and accompanying Forge World models, similar in style to Tamurkhan. But, I didn't know it got far enough to have a proper book cover, is this one legit? Makes me wonder if maybe the whole book was written and just never released? In which case it would be the lost tome of 8th edition, the holy grail we all should strive to find on our travels. Does anybody know more?

I assumed that a bunch of it was done
They definitely released some of the models.

Yes, I remember that! I was so excited. WD actually had advertisements for it for a couple of months. The Orc, Nigh Goblin, and Dwarf models that were released by Forge World were going to be special characters from the campaign book.
I'm guessing the book was 90% finished, I think they pulled because of the End Times.

I was quite upset when they cancelled this book. Oh course, I was already upset at forgeworld for cancelling the other 3 books in the planned "Throne of Chaos" series. So, you know, I should have expected it.

I was never really impressed with their rules but missing out on fluff and models sucked.

It's was a shame that at GDs they promised that HH wouldn't stop the work on Warhammer Forge material, bigger shame they promised more books even on the notes at end of Tamurkhan book. After the utter destruction of WFB they could have released the material in free pdf, there were so many great artworks by A.Smith in it.

I think fantasy forge sales were bad.

Oh yes, it was indeed done. A friend of mine had it, primarily for the Chaos Dwarves.
What was in there was solid, but the Chaos Dwarf army felt... incomplete.

Yeah. The fantasy stuff was very inconsistent imo. For every awesome model, like the skaven, there was a stinker (most of the big monsters).
It's surprising they didn't add a bit more to the chaos dwarfs, even if the models weren't ready.

The Battle for Black Fire Pass was never released.
