In general, what are you observing with price trends on WFB boxes? At our recent event at DaBoyz I saw a few battalion boxed sets at attractive prices. Like $75 for what might have sold for $125 a few years ago. I saw boxed sets (like the Arachnarok Spider) for $30. Good deal! Looking for that same box on eBay - best price is $50, with $70ish seeming common, going up to $100.
In general, where do you buy? I like to do all my buying on Amazon or eBay, but that's just me. This is just as relates to GW product. I am not picky on NIB versus assembled. Obv, assembled and/or painted would depend... I am going to repaint it, regardless. so I am not going to put a premium on assembled, in fact - it's more of a detriment than a bonus IMHO.
Overall, I expected the pricing for old Warhammer stuff (say, anything manufactured in the past 6 years) to: 1). Go UP when they announced 8TH was being discontinued, and then 2). Go DOWN when those sellers realized they had $1000's of dollars in obsolete product typing up warehouse space.
Do we have any amateur economists in the audience?
**This post isn't really about absurdly OOP stuff from the 80's or even the stuff I cut my teeth on in the 90's. Mostly, stuff that was a normal stocked item and in production when GW made the move toward END TIMES.

I would expect everything plastic to go down in prices significantly. There is just so much of it produced that it'll never become like the 'absurdly OOP stuff from the 80's'. Now while it does hurt to say it, the popularity/u of and usefulness in AoS should also have a big effect.
still waiting for the bargain bin demigryphs. patience is a virtue...

Still waiting for the bargain bin demigryphs. patience is a virtue... I saw a lot with 3 plastic demigryphs, steeds only no riders, on eBay last night. It had other stuff too. The bid was at $4.99 and I was tempted to buy it just cause it seemed like a good deal!

I haven't really shopped on ebay for minis since I bought a big dwarf lot in June. Prior to that I scanned through ebay on a very regular basis looking for deals. In the July/August 2015 to May/June 2016 time frame I had expected that upon the end of GW support for 8th that prices for GW minis (current stuff as you mention above Will) would have dropped drastically. However I didn't see this. I felt that prices stayed pretty constant.

I've said it a thousand times and I'll say it again. Can you imagine being a soldier and watching that thing come at you?? I want to be a High Elf prince but I'm quite sure I'm a Bretonnian peasant at heart

I will say that the Getting Started box sets appear to be great value.

Tomb Kings spiked in price but have now settled down again. Chaos Dwarfs seem steady on ebay. That night goblin Araknaroc is fantastic! Honestly the giant spider kit is one of GWs best for the price with all the options it contains. I remember reading about Forest goblins worshipping mammoth spiders in the original OnG book

Quite a few Empire kits are pretty horribly priced on eBay. I would say Chaos dwarfs have crept up slightly over the last year or so. When I first picked up most of my Bull Centaurs they were going for ~£7 each. Now they seem to be hitting £12-15. A big chunk of these are recasts too. Pretty pleased I only need 1 or 2 more Chaos Dwarf models to finish my collection.
If the discontinued models escalate too much on ebay I might investigate some other sources
