I was looking at the ogre list and putting my Tyrant on a Stonehorn for a neat new option. This adds a +1 to the Toughness and +4 to the tyrants wounds. But then I remembered seeing the special rule for monster slayer. It basically says if the attacker rolls a 6, the monster doesn't get a armor or reg save (does get a ward) if this is failed then the monster loses all remaining wounds.
Further in the mounted character section is says that if a character is upon a ridden monster the whole model is the mounts sub category.
So as I read it if you have Monster slayer (of the 50 Dragon Slaying Sword) you can take out big stuff pretty easily, I mean you do have to roll a 6 to hit but ...
What do you think?

I do believe that Monster Slayer would be able to kill a character riding a monster, as of course most of the model is a Monster after all. Better make sure you stock up on a Ward Save As for the Dragon-Slaying Sword's comparative cheapness, remember that you're only really paying for the Monster Slayer special rule, which is useless against regiments of troops (including Monstrous Infantry and Cavalry). Most characters in this game are going to want to be of use against units as much as monsters to be able to help their units out in fights, so I don't think we'll be seeing the Dragon-Slaying Sword all that often.

It is a 6 to wound, so less likely than a 6 to hit. Absolutely it can kill a Tyrant mounted on a Stonehorn in this edition.

I imagine every last army having a cheap mobile hero with that sword. so there is at least an off-chance to kill the big baddies. What are the options to increase that off-chance by the way? is there an easily accessible 're-roll to wound' spell maybe?
