Heres a look at the first list I'll be entering the old world with, for a narrative event we have locally.
I haven't had a chance to run the game yet, just theorycrafting and rulebook flicking thus far.
Feel free to have some input with your thoughts, or if you have some more experience with the game and these units and their potential.

Goblin Warboss [134 pts]
- Great weapon
- Armour of Silvered Steel
- Talisman of Protection
Going standard gobbo boss gives an extra point on leadership.. should that ever come up it may help? 3+/5++ and a great weapon. Mainly there for survivability but cheap GW to hit a bit harder. Sits within the spear block.
- Hand weapon
- Light armour
- Shield
- Giant Cave Squig
- Trollhide Trousers
- Da Choppiest Choppa
Goblin on a big squig, looks fun and hits pretty hard, 3+ and 5++ regen, da choppiest choppa and being a warboss should help with the extra attacks and putting down some hurt.
- Hand weapon
- Light armour
- Shield
- Battle Standard Bearer
- On foot
- Trollhide Trousers
- War Banner
Mainly built as a more survivable BSB, 4+ and 5++ regen, warbanner to give +1 to combat res. Paired with the big spear unit and the raggedy banner = +1 bsb, +1 standard, +1 war banner and +1 raggedy banner seems like a good multiplier.
- Hand weapon
- Level 4 Wizard
- On foot
Level 4 in one of the archer block, standard as it comes. Lore of the Waaagh looks good, Evil sun shining is probably my favouite looking thus far. Also bad moon rising paired with the raggedy banner unit could mean these spear gobbos come out ontop in combat...
- Hand weapon
- On foot
- Ruby Ring of Ruin
Level 1 in another archer block, unsure if a second spellcaster will pay off or better off spent on a standard hitty boss with the ruby ring...
++ Core Units [678 pts] ++
40 Night Goblin Mob [297 pts]
- Thrusting Spear
- Shield
- Netters
- 2 Fanatics
- Boss
- Standard Bearer
- The Big Red Raggedy Flag
- Musician
Big block with spears, and jumping from WS2 to WS3 might actually make a difference in some areas where the opponent has decent WS. But mainly there to hopefully stack combat res between all the banners, should stick around hopefully for a good time. Fanatics as a chaos merchant to deter some charges and cause issues while hopefully taking wounds off here and there.
19 Night Goblin Mob [111 pts]
- Shortbow
- Shield
- 1 Fanatics
- Standard Bearer
- Musician
Block for the mage to sit in, move around and plink off some shots and hopefully send the fanatic somewhere troublesome.
19 Night Goblin Mob [111 pts]
- Shortbow
- Shield
- 1 Fanatics
- Standard Bearer
- Musician

15 Night Goblin Squig Herd [159 pts]
- 3 Squig Herder
- 3 Squig Herder
Really liking the look of this unit, its not alot of points, but has the potential to do a lot of damage. Then, when it fails a test, hopefully explodes in the enemy lines. Some say 10 man units of squigs seems to do well, but I'm theorying that its too small a unit.
++ Special Units [256 pts] ++
5 Night Goblin Squig Hopper Mob [76 pts]
- Cavalry Spear
- Light armour
- Boss
Like the models, could be decent chaff. Random movement can be a blessing and a curse.
4 Common Troll Mob [180 pts]
- Great weapon
This is the unit I'm most unsure of but wanted to try out. Gonna have to be babysat next to the generals block to hopefully fix some issues with leadership, but its alot of points. Can certainly lay down some damage if they survive the round and get to hit back (and actually hit...)
++ Rare Units [390 pts] ++
Giant [200 pts]
- Giants Club
- Light armour
Giants seem fun, looks of good rules and unbreakable, whether their damage output is enough, will have to see.. Certainly lacking in the defence department but for 200 points he's a big boy and definitely a threat to be dealt with and hopefully take some heat off the rest of the army and the manglers.
Mangler Squigs [95 pts]
- Colossal Fang Filled Gob
- Heavy armour
They got rid of the bouncing through units from 8th, but personally, they have made these absolute glass cannons deadly. Very scary looking on paper for the damage output potential. Impact hits, stomps, lots of AP and even killing blow. Lets just hope they make it across the board.
