Does anyone else find the FAQ Ruling below needs further clarification for pursuing units that FBIGO? (it makes sense for Give Ground).
My reason: - The rulebook says on P157 that pursuit of unit that FBIGO is a charge - P213 says that you must keep weapons the same as of the first round fought "following a charge" - So really I would have expected to be able to change weapons in this scenario - However clearly this FAQ forbids it, but it opens up new questions of what other charge bonus’ might not apply? - e.g. Does a lance bonus apply? Does Hatred apply? - Before I would have said yes, but now I’m not sure
Welcome the collective wisdom
Q: If my unit loses a round of combat and either Gives Ground or Falls Back in Good Order, can it choose to use different weapons in the next turn if the enemy made a follow up or pursuit move? A: No. Even though the units separated momentarily, they remain locked in place and engaged in combat once the follow up or pursuit move has been made. In other words, the combat is ongoing and neither unit has the time to stow one weapon in exchange for another (the exception being the time it takes to discard a broken lance or spear and draw a sword).

Yeah, the flavor text here also seems like lances and cavalry spears wouldn't get their bonus in a pursuit move, even though it is counted as a charge in the book. This rule book needs more and more FAQ/errata passes, and soon.

The Lance blatantly can be used 🤦 With the clarification and that the rule in the book says that it can't be used in "subsequent turns" it seems to me now quite clear that it can't.

🤦
"... In subsequent turns (or if the wielder did not charge) the model must use its hand weapon instead..."

Yep, this part in particular seems to reinforce that lances can't be used in a Follow Up or Pursuit move into a Fall Back in Good Order (which in the book is counted as charging, but is not actually a true charge move): "A: No. Even though the units separated momentarily, they remain locked in place and engaged in combat once the follow up or pursuit move has been made. In other words, the combat is ongoing and neither unit has the time to stow one weapon in exchange for another (the exception being the time it takes to discard a broken lance or spear and draw a sword)." That last part especially "the exception being the time it takes to discard a broke lance or spear (both weapons that benefit from charging, one that can ONLY be used in a charge) and draw a sword." It could be intended to work that way to take some of the bite out of continuing combat against cavalry.

So going on that ruling a challenge issued and fought before the unit giving ground would also continue. That was one question I had come up.
